enlarged thyroid?

Anyone ever had an enlarged thyroid? I saw my doc today about something totally different but she noticed my thyroid seemed enlarged. Wants me to get an ultrasound of it. anyone know what that could be caused from and know anything about it?

It could indicate a thyroid disease. This could include hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, Hashimotos, Graves Disease or thyroid cancer. It is usually a result of iodine deficiency. I wouldn't worry until you get an official diagnosis. They need to test your T-3/4 and TSH levels.
