not sure what to do.

edited August 2012 in Babies Health
Do Juliana was playing with a spatula the other day and got her thumb stuck in the hole on the handle where you can hang it. When we took it out her thumb was cut and bleeding, we got the bleeding to stop and put neosporin(sp) and a bandaid on it. She was acting perfectly fine like nothing had happened.... Well the cut keeps opening back up of she doesn't have a bandaid on since it right in the spot that he thumb moves. I'm gonna call her Dr. In the morning but I'm wondering if it needs stiches or if it just opening because of the location.... It doesn't look very deep.

  • Sounds like it's one of those cuts you have to keep immobile for it to heal...which is impossible on a baby. Maybe super glue the skin itself so it stays together, but don't put the glue in the actual wound.
  • @rtmommy would her doctor be able to do something? We were thinking it just needed that glue they use but I don't know if they can do it in office.
  • It doesn't sound like it's bad enough for stitches. Aside from keeping it dry, I don't know what else they would say to do. The glue they would use is basically super glue anyhow. You could always just take her in to have them do it if you're more comfortable with that. If you do it, just make sure it's cleaned well beforehand. :)
  • @rtmommy I'm not sure I could do it myself lol. I have a few friends who are MAs I wonder if they would do it for me...
  • It's really easy. :) you could hold her while someone else does it.
