thinking about breastfeeding....

edited August 2012 in Breastfeeding
I am thinking about breastfeeding since this will be the last child I'm having...I need to do a lot of research and maybe attend a class. I hope if I do it will be successful! I know it's a ton of preglies who breastfeed so please share any info with me

  • Yes! Biggest challenge is not giving up in the first few weeks. The mentality that it would be easier to just make a bottle becomes all too consuming. Definitely take a breastfeeding class prior and seek out local breastfeeding support classes. The more you know and understand (i.e. babies have small tummies and breast milk is easily digested, thus very frequent feeding are expected/normal), the greater chance of success. This truly is a commitment, but so well worth it. Good luck!
  • The first month really is the hardest, it seriously gets much better. You'll look back and itll be a small little thing. Attend WIC meetings ass well.
  • U can do it! I ff my first two...and with the help of this site I successfully Breastfed my third lol... The first few weeks were hard but thanks to my preglies and trips to see my lactation consultant I got thru it and still bfing my almost 8 month old.
