baby bedding and nurseries

My husband and I have been looking around at baby bedding just trying to get some what of an idea of what we want but holy $h! T ... 200$+ for baby bedding.. Please anyone tell me where I can order or get baby bedding that is reasonably priced. Or ideas on what to do instead.. Please post pictures of your nurseries so I can get some ideas.. Please

I got my daughters bedding at Walmart for $50 for the set and we did a polka dot theme I will post a pic in the morning from my computer but I did her whole room for under $100 not including crib and dresser

I didn't buy bedding.. just sheets. I couldn't ever find any that I liked, and if you really think about it, the sheets are about the only useful thing in the whole package. It wasn't worth it for us.

They dont recomend bumpers anymore. Maybe a cute sheet with a skirt thing under. Like for a girl a hot pink sheet with zebra skirt. Or for a boy light blue sheet with brown/blue/tan vertical stripe skirt. But thats just my suggestion. Definately cheaper.

I got the bedding at kmart for around 50$, I had another set that I loved and it was 200$ but I couldn't afford it. Then I found this one which is supper cute at a great price! I got material at joanns which is a craft store and made the curtains and the cover for the changing table, that saved me a lot of money and was super fun to make.

We got our bedding at like 50% off at target..it was discontinued and the only one left. It was close to $300 to begin with and we got it for around $150. It was a nine piece set. It came with a bumper, comforter, fitted sheet, pillow, diaper rack(we didn't use), a stuffed animal hanging basket(we didn't use), valence(which we ended up chopping and had a friend make curtains out of), and a skirt.

We have Lauren in a simple pack n.play and don't plan on buying things for her room until she's in her toddler bed. Infant bedding is almost a waste.

@Mrs4c We used the same bedding for my daughter (Her crib and toddler bed were the same size matress)

With my son we used his sisters old stuff. It was not gender specific so it worked well... try a second hand store and see what they have. You can get some nice sets for cheap..

We got our bedding at Ross. It was a $250 set we got for $85. @lilliansmom that has to be the cutest nursery ever! i love the polka dots all over the room!!!

When I put Lillian to bed tonight I realized I had added a words under her book shelf since I took those pictures (which were before she was born thats why its so clean! haha)


I got the wood words at Michaels for 75 cents each on clearance. The polka dot decals I got on clearance at Target for $7 and her bedding I got on clearance at Walmart for $50...I love clearance! haha

I would recommend buying bedding/accessories that aren't too "baby" so it can be used for number of years. That will help to save money, or you won't feel so bad about spending more!

My lil Haylee is still in a crib in our room. She'll move into the spare room and I'll decorate it for a little girl young girl at that time....

Ikea has awesome deals on baby things , our friend made our bedding for free out of 2 sets of twin sheets that I bought and some batting... She made it sound really easy ?! My mom recovered the cushions on my rocking chair to match my crazy cheetah zebra theme but it came out great! I found the crib and dresser/changer/hutch on Craigslist for $300 but it was like brand new and so cute I couldn't resist! Also found great deals on amazon, I would find something I wanted for her room at like babies r us or another store and then look up the exact same thing on amazon and it was always at least 20% cheaper if not more! Bargainhunter4life!!! Lol
