contractions!?

Yeah I've had a baby before but I really don't know what contractions feel like when ever I get a period I never had cramps soooo sometimes I get this tightness in my abdominal area like at the bottom I guess and then it stops ... Sooo um is that a contraction ? Dumb question but hell I don't lol
