My boss is around 12 wks pregnant and she said that on her appt they couldn't hear the baby's heart beat on the Doppler but on the ultrasound they saw it but couldn't hear it thru machine either and she's thin so what could it be????

It is normal to not hear it on the Doppler at that gestation and just see it on the ultrasound. So long as it was seen, that is good and doesn't indicate anything is wrong. Could just be a crappysonogram machine to not pick up the sound through it.

When I was that far, they had to Doppler my back to hear it!
