Im in nyc. Luckily our area only got the wind and rain, maybe a few small tree's fell. The biggest issue for us is mass transit, it was out from Sunday or Monday till Yesterday. Thats a big deal for all of nyc. Today the trains ate running on a limited modified map basis. The city was in a chock yesterday with the gridlock traffic.. like in movies.. we luckily didn't lose power/ water, etc. But mannny others downtown and lower boroughs did, and are still without. I'll post a map of the subway routes, and you can tell where all the power is out.
Luckily we never lost power, but many around us have and are still without. Our basement flooded but we were expecting that so we don't keep anything down there. I think we got really lucky and it could have been a lot worse. We're really thankful we didn't lose our home. We really thought we would due to the flooding or possibly a tree following.
