  • This happen to me when I found out I was prego w my first. Sometimes it really sucks being a woman. Congrats on baby tho. Sorry about what happen w work.
  • I would sue! Yea but thats sucks. Did you feel like you werent fitting in?
  • I'm sorry! That's just wrong
  • Sorry hun but I would sue them...
  • It's not allowed for them to do that..
  • Isn't that against the law?
  • That's what I hear
  • Althought it may be against the law...it would cost her a ton of money to even fight it. Most likely she wouldn't win because they would lie and say other reasons. Since she's probably still in her probation period they have a huge advantage! Hate to hear this for you...but all things happen for a reason. I hope something better comes along for u and fast!
  • Yea that is true if you were in a probation period but if not they would most likely settle out of court and offer her a check to go away companies dont have time and dont want to deal with court cases
  • @Graysonsmommy I do fit in, I worked at a fertility clinic as a medical assistant, I did my externship hours there(200) hours, when I got to 100 hours she offered me the position saying I walked in that clinic knowing exactly what I was doing, then about 2weeks ago I told her I was prego and her response was "u just got hired this can't happen" I thought she was joking finally yesterday she told me I'm sorry u ain't fitting in.and all my coworkers was surprised especially one of the girl was like she's not firing the people that should be fired.
  • You got fired from a FERTILITY clinic for being PREGNANT?? That's just ridiculous. As much as it sucks, you're better off. You don't wanna work for someone like that!
  • @Starrxoxo9 yea I just wished she had a better reason to let me go....and I'm sad because I got attached to some of the patients.
  • Ah no ....wrongful termination definitely. Even with a probationary period there's typically legal protocol employers must follow often including verbal/written warning acknowledged and signed by employee. Check the requirements for your state.
  • I would file a grievance with the labor board for discrimination. If you were not a qualified candidate, the employer should not have hired you after your externship -- it's misleading. It's too obvious a termination after disclosing your current maternal status.
  • @Mijita I'm not sure how to go about filing for grieving with labor for discrimination...@Ourlittlenugget I live in Washington state.
