first birthday games ideas

edited November 2012 in Just for Fun
So my lo 1st bday is coming up and we are throwing him a big party with about 80 guests... what are some appropriate games/entertainment we can do? Something that a large crowd can participate in... thinking of giving away about 3 prizes...

  • We did a fact question and answer based on my LO. "How well do you know Haylee?" If you got it right you pick a prize.

    Questions like..
    What is her favorite cartoon
    What's her favorite food?
    What was her first word?
    What time was she born?
    What's her middle name?

We also played a dance game because she loves to dance.

We broke up into 2 groups.
Alternating... A group will draw a card.
The card will have a dance on it.
Each dance has a song that goes with it.
    Like..
    The jerk
    The soldiar boy
    The Cupid shuffle.

Well your team had to sing the song while at least one person on the team did the dance.

It was too cute cause Haylee danced too every time.

We also played a game called left/right. You have to Google a sample

But someone read a story about Haylee and how we took her on a road trip. (made up story)

But you all sit in a circle and every 4th person will get a dollar.

You read the story and it will say.. like

Haylee went on a road trip with her mom and dad. They made 2 left turns pass the railroad tracks. When they came to wright street the made a left but forgot the left her pampers and had to go.. blah blah blah.

So everyone will pass the dollar to the left then right ... Whenever they hear the words left and right. So the dollars always go in the same direction be it left or right and you want to end the game with the original people holding the dollar you started with. That's how you know if the guest messed up because most likely the dollars will be in the wrong hands.

It's. Good game and the guest laugh and everyone is confused together.

My games were mostly for adults. I only had 3 kids her age and 40 adults.

    We had a blast.

I have other games just let me know if you need more.
  • I was needing help too... i have pin the horn on the unicorn (theme is rainbows and unicorns) and i was thinking about doing musical chairs. Other than that I'm lost lol
  • I have a ton of games. The thing is the little 1 year olds aren't big enough to play yet... You would have more of a successful party entertaining the adults UNLESS you have kids coming. But kids like 4 years and older can play these games.
  • Well i will be having lots of kids 4 and older but a good amount of infants as well. I invited my local playdate group and a lot of the moms RSVP'd yes and most of them have more than 1 child.
  • I planned to do games at my sons 1st bday party but it got too hectic and we didn't play anything! :(
  • Thanks for the input... i will def do tge left/right game :)
