So I am in charge of making the ham this year, and I am looking at the ads and it says "Signature ham shank portion" ...what is that? And is it just as good?
Yes !!! My mom cuts slits on top after its been in the oven for about 2 or 3 hours and put sugar and pour soda over it so It can go back in the oven and carmalize it is so yummy!!
Look at a bunch of recipes online. That's what I usually do. It helps you find the consistencys like most may say to bake at 225 for 8 hours (for example) , so then you have a good guideline. I'm sure you'll do great.
USUALLY the ham will already be pre cooked, and you just need to warm thru...so it should t be all day. I say usually bc on occasion I find hams that aren't pre cooked. If you find the Paula Deen ham { in blue package} it's really yummy!
