Can you get pregnant if you have unprotected sex 3 or 4 days before you're supposed to ovulate? Can sperm live that long?

Yes! We were trying. It was nuts because we had sex on a Monday, I left for vacation the next day (he stayed home) and I continued using an ovulation kit to track my ovulation. Well I didn't test positive on the kit until that Friday, 5 days later. The kit said after you get a positive you ovulate 24-48 hours later .....so it was AT LEAST 5 days out from sex!
