HIV

Im so upset for my coworker. Her 16yr old son just "came out of the closet" maybe a couple of months ago and apparently already starting "experimenting" and one of the kids he was experimenting with came out and admitted he is HIV positive and he didnt want to tell him nefore because he was affraid he would run off. Well n now my coworkers son got tested and he tested positive. I know they say a lot of time they can live a mostly normal life but I can imagine its a lot to deal with foe a 16yr old who hasnt lived yet. How irrisposible of this other young man who didnt say anything before (and he was just also diagnosed in August of this yr)

  • Omg!!!! That poor family. My heart breaks for them. It is illegal to knowingly have HIV/aids and not tell your partner ( at least in some states) I would most definitely be pressing charges so that kid doesn't ruin anyone elses life!
  • That's what i thought to. We live in TX sp idk i guess if she wants to shell have to check. If he would of not been so ignorant and taken some responsibility he wouldn't of put this other kid in this situation. Now im thinking i hope he didn't do this on purpose
  • Oh god poor boy and mom. Its hard enough for him being gay n his mom having a gay son n now this. Its crazy idk. I feel for her.
  • That's horrible :( I'd press charges. That's considered manslaughter from what I have heard.

  • Could it be that the boy with HIV was really scared? I mean, if he just found out about this a couple of months ago, then im guessing he was/is confused and scared too. I know this is horrible, and being scared or confused does not justify what he did but its not all his fault. At sixteen, you should know the risks there are by having any kind of sex. There should've been more precautions from both boys. Like i said, nothing justifies not telling your sexual partner about anything that could put each others health at risk but as a person you should ALWAYS take your own precautions and not sleep with just anyone to "experiment".
Its sad, and this is only my opinion (so feel free to disagree lol) but both boys were careless and ignorant.

  • Yup he should of taken his own precautions gay or not we all should! I hope he doesnt go off and do the same thing
  • Lets hope he takes this and turns it into something beautiful. Too many parents are close minded to the fact that homosexuality exists, so they fail to teach their kids the things that will keep them safe. It would be good for him to share his story and share awareness.
  • Please have your coworker find some support group(s) for her son! It would be even more sad if he were to do something drastic (feeling that his life was over). Gay teens have one of the highest rates of suicide among any group...and that's w/o taking HIV status into consideration!
  • Very true. The family overall needs therapy/ counseling. She also just found that her daughter 14-15ur old is depressed and cutting herself...holidays and financial issues already have them blue...they need a lot of prayer
  • Oh no :( just curious but what do they do for HIV? like treatment wise?
  • My bboyfrienes mom has had HIV for 20+ years. I don't know enough about it, or situation to put in any input though.
  • Idk a lot yet, im sure they need a series of medicines hopefully their insurance will cover and he is good about taking them
  • Prayers to their family. I have a good friend that took a lot of grief tor coming out to her parents. Hope he is getting all the info he needs to deal with something so scarey... HIV is not a death sentence just something life changing
  • That is terrible being so young. But there is slot they can do to help with the symptoms now. My godfather has been HIV pos for almost 30yrs. He works very close with his dr, takes good care of himself and has a good support system.
