My baby has this habit of using me as a pacifier. When hes done feeding he likes to fall asleep on the breast and the moment i break latch he wakes up. ? Anyone know a way to stop this i can literally be therw for an hour or two as his paci. I have to do this for him to sleep

Ive tried i guess he knows the difference there are some times where i guess he doesnt mind and he takes it thats only happened a few time shelly @sands3

I would keep trying with just the paci. That's all I can think of right now...

Could he be going through a growth spurt and stimulating more milk??

Not sure how old he is but I would say give a paci and swaddle. Always works with mine!!

@natashalyyn he did go through a growth spurt n was breastfeeding every hour.
@amb2486 i swaddle him and give it to him he spits it out and cries until i but the boob on him and then he falls asleep if i break latch after 30 or an hour he wakes up and cries.

My 3.5 month old does the same thing. She won't take a paci either.

Have u tried different types of pacis? My son did that too I would be in bed with him on my boob for hrs ... I probably bought every type of paci before we found one he would take which was a soothie

There's a really good paci & I can't remember the name of it, but it's kind of big & round...when they suck it their mouth is open like when breastfeeding. I wish I remembered the name of it.

I found it...it's the playtex Binky...it's the only one my son would take when breastfeeding.

When breastfeeding my daughter would only take nuk pacifiers I tried a ton before we found one she liked.

When I was breastfeeding my daughter only uses paci to fall asleep to and the nuk have been the best for her!

I eventually tried a paci with my first daughter for the same reason. I used the mam brand.
