my son is 14 months and I still breastfreed. I'm sick and from what I can remember I can't take any meds ladies since he's a lil older can I take something I have been taking advil it helps intill it goes away is there something?

Try Sudafed or DayQuil and NyQuil. NyQuil has alcohol in it, but it is a small amount and your body will metabolize it. They also make an alcohol free version.

@luvmy5 OMG I'm gonna check I have to wait it out till tomorrow its late and hubby's asleep sick I'm just going threw it I hate this

Tylenol cold should be ok since you can take it while preggo, it doesn't have alcohol on it.

I woke up hubby and rushed to the store I got a day qulil alcohol free since hubby is on night quil we both can't b knocked out got my lil Guy to watch well ladies ty so much and I pray I get better cause boy this sucks

ANYTHING that is made to dry up sinuses can cause your breast milk supply to go down. They are made to dry us mucus and BM is considered a mucus. I took ONE Benadryl and my supply dropped for 3 days. ...doesn't happen to everyone. But happens to a lot.

^^ agreed! I took sudafed once as directed by a lactation consultant (dumb) & my milk dried up so bad I had to quit bf. (it was my first child) Don't use anything that says decongestant.

Yeah my supply was never the same. That is so sad you had to quit BF bc of it. I am sorry @wilsomom

@ashley_smashley Yeah, that was a long time ago, I was only 19 & very inexperienced lol. My daughter was 3 months at the time so at least she got some!

Glad you're feeling better..since your son is 14 months hopefully your supply is well established enough that it won't affect it too bad.

@Wilsomom I only bf from one boob cause the other ran out of milk LOL am ready to stop bf but my son is the one that dnt want cows milk or any milk but I hope also it doesn't affect it right away at least

I noticed a supply drop when I took it. Call your doctor, I did, and they called me in something. It didn't mess with my supply. My supply has never been the same...I was getting out 8oz at a time and now I'm down to like 4-5oz. My lo is almost 14m...she was about 9/10m when it happened.
