  • It shouldn't effect u too much but if your thinking as far as loans or whatever u can call and ask the requirements from your bank as far as what they want to see to get approved that will help u decide.
  • Will the mortgage be based on just your inc
  • income? Will your income be primary?
  • Its such a pain because we are using MY credit and will add my husband as additional income. Im looking to talk to a loan officer this week hadnt thought i could ask him that.
  • Will you be able to afford the mortgage after you go on maternity leave?
  • If you can afford the mortgage then I wouldn't say anything.
  • You need to prove like 3 months of income so I wouldn't worry as long as you have income
  • I don't think u even need to mention maternity leave to him. Shouldn't affect it at all.
  • I would check. When we bought ours my husband had been in a really bad car wreckand missed a couple Weeks we had to get a letter from his work saying why he was missing from work
  • It can affect it! I used to work in the business. It's best to get your loan and purchase complete before any kind of job change or leave. The bank wants to see steady income and reliable employment over a continuous period. Get it done as soon as you can. :-)

I agree w ourlittlenugget, if you can get it prior to going on maternity leave. My sis is a loan officer and she agreed as well. Most lenders ask for recent paystubs.
  • You will need to prove about two years of income. They will want your taxes and as long as making your payment will not be a problem don't bring I up.
  • Paid leave won't affect it.
