Rubiya's medical update!! Must read.
Today 2/25/14 a month long stay as of today and great progress since she's been admitted.
For the past couple of weeks Physical Therapy has been working with her.. she has weakness on the left side of her body but is slowly gaining back her abilities on that side.. she is now using good strength to be able to remember her sitting/standing and holding her head up skills.. she has rolled over to her side... and when the physical therapist asked her a question about this one ball they were playing with and if she still wanted it... Rubiya replied saying "No" she does smile and waves and occasionally says hey or hi to the nurses treating her.
Her swelling has gone down completely and her head looks like normal.
As of now she has a shunt in her head to get rid of extra fluids and it's working wonders. She has a little indention on her right side where the brain injury was, due to the Neurosurgeon having to remove a fractured bone.. they are now working on a time to put the bone back or put a aesthetic bone in to replace it. Since she's recovered very well from her last surgery about a few weeks ago.
She's also off her breathing machine and working with Speech therapists on her swallowing ability after her tube was removed from her mouth and throat.
