33 wks and extreme groin pains!

I have been experiencing these debiltating shooting pains in my groin. My doctor said that the weight of the baby is putting pressure on nerves and causing the pain. It is slowly getting worse and makes it difficult to lift my legs. Anyone else experiencing this? Maybe have some tips on how you coped with the pain, if that's possible.

  • Unfortunately they do just get worse the further your baby's head moves down into your pelvis. The only real relief I have found is resting on all fours. It's a nightmare but I hope you don't suffer too much! I'm 36 weeks btw.
  • I've had loads of hip and groin pain sometimes my left foot goes numb too. I was advised to sit on an exercise ball and rotate my hips in a figure of 8 I've been a bit lazy and not done it enough so don't know if it works . Also told to do pelvic floor exercises. Hope this helps.
  • Thank you! I will definitely try them both. I don't know about the exercise ball though, I was a huge clutz before being fat and pregnant, now I am beyond clutz. I surprise myself with what I "achieve" in the way of the clutz. Haha
  • Yeah I'm the same but my bf helps me on and off the ball and your surprisingly secure once your on just keep both feet on the floor infront of you and keep hips and knees apart to stabilize you.
  • Sounds like an adventure. My bd already thinks everything I do is really funny and cute because this body doesn't like to work with me sometimes. Haha I'm sure he'll get a kick out of me trying to roll around on a ball.
