Changes in appetite

edited March 2011 in First Trimester
I'm about 5 weeks , and the first few weeks it seemed I had an appetite for just about everything. But now the only food I can even look at without getting sick is salad an I usually never ate salad. Did anyone else go through a phase where they had no appetite?

  • I'm 7.5 weeks and have been going through the same thing for about 2 weeks. I am starving a lot of the time but the thought of any food makes me sick!! It's horrible!
  • yes it does! I'm so hungry all the time, but I just cant eat anything.
  • ME! Lol and I didn't really start getting it back till last week I'm now 14 weeks and 3 days a definitely have it back it will come but isn't that just the worst feeling? Not wanting to eat anything lol
  • Yea when I say something sounds good and I dont get it right away it doesnt sound good anymore, unless it is a salad and that sucks because sometimes I dont want to eat salad just to make myself full
  • Im 25 weeks and still struggling with my appetite. I eat snacks all day, sometimes two days in a row, before i can eat a real meal. I try to make sure im snacking healthy to balance my weird appetite roller coaster, but i still worry that baby isn't getting enough nutrition.
  • I've been tryin to force myself to eat things, but it ends up just making me feel sick. is there anything you're actually able to eat without getting sick? I need something other then salad!
  • ugh, i'm 6 weeks and anything greasy or fatty makes me feel so sick. especially bacon. just thinking about cheeseburgers makes me want to throw up! youre not alone!
  • I have had Nachos, steak, pizza, turkey sandwish, panackes, bacon, eggs, cheeseburger. I know for sure that i wouldnt get sick off of those
  • Meee so weird
  • I tried to eat pizza the other day, an by the time it was ready I couldnt even look at it. I feel bad for my bf I've been so hormonal lately , and being hungry all the time just makes it worse.
@4senough- I completely understand I feel like I'm not only starving myself but the baby as well.
@paytonnoelle- I went out to eat over the weekend and tried to eat a cheeseburger, all the grease made me sick.
  • With my first I not only had a change in appetite, I couldn't b near food at all. I was camped out in my bathroom for the first 4 months using the potty seat as a pillow, lol!!!! It was horrible. It got less severe with each child, and now with this one (#4) I feel fine. I just try to eat b4 I get to the icky feeling. Seems to help.
