things thats happen 2 me this week ive got hypertension that can lead 2 preclampcia help

so my babyshower was march 5, and I. was not feeling good, I was so swollen and felt so blah. I had two nurses and a doctor at my baby shower and they had me take my bp (blood pressure) well it was 163/99 which is high for me. Plus I have had a continuous headache, seeing spots, and blurry vision. But I called l & d (labor and delievery) well the idiot on the phone told me take tylenol and go lay down. If I start to bleed or contract to call back. Well I was unresponsive, and felt so out of it...
Well on Tuesday march 8 I had my Ob appt at 230pm and got my bp.checked and it was 145/95 which was low compared to that weekend. So my midwife told me go to lab and get all the test redone and while you do that I'm going to call labor and delievery and se if they can monitor you for ur high bp. I said ok. So we went got tests ddone went back and she set mom and I up to labor and delievery. I got put on the monitors and the long night started well around 430 I think tons of nurses, techs, and midwife that was on call all came in the room asking my pain and if I was contracting. I said no why they then tell me on top of my high bp, I was contracting every minute to two minutes, so they put a iv in me thinking I was dehidrated so maybe if I get fluids the contractions will stop. Well they got stronger and they check I wasn't changing so with high bp and contractions they sent me home. Around 1 am the contractions finally stopped but then the Wednesday around 3pm they started again only strong. So went in same thing got on monitors so they were stronger but my cervix hadn't changed so hopefully it won't change until couple more weeks pass.. I've found out I've had a lot of tests done and found out I have hypertension that can lead to preclampcia. the midwife said that its my uterus just preparing me so, I was glad to hear that I wasn't in labor bc I'm only 34 weeks and 4 days so hopefully Dakota will hold off for 2 maybe 3 weeks the least.

  • Rest as much as possible hun. Don't do a lot, you should be on bedrest. Avoid salty foods because that can raise your blood pressure and cause more swelling. Your midwife can and should also prescribe high blood pressure meds. They are safe to take in pregnancy. Drink lots and lots of water! Its not abnormal to have contractions early because it is your body preparing but just take it easy. Your little one still needs a couple more weeks. :) hope this helps hun. Good luck and congrats on your baby!
