c-section

edited January 2011 in Pregnant
I had a c-section with my first, he's 1 & 1/2, so I'm going to have to have another this time. I won't be able to pick up anything that is heavier than my newborn and its gonna hurt like hell for up to 8 weeks. I'm in college right now and my boyfriend supports us all until I'm finished, so I'm left alone while he's at work. How can I do all the things that I need to do during the day with my little boy, like picking him up out of his crib, if I can't even pick him up?

  • Maybe invest in a toddler bed with side rails or put his mattress on the floor and make sure you put a gate across the doorway. That way you wouldn't have to lift him out of the crib. Just a suggestion. I had a c-section with my second and my first was under two as well. We made sure that he couldn't harm himself in the room if he woke up and put the gate across the doorway so he couldn't get out and into mischief or hurt himself. I know how hard the situation is so I wish you luck with your situation and your lil ones. Congrats btw!
