Advice?

So i want to breastfeed as i have always wanted too.. but my husband wants to do both. Im against formula right now bc i know bf is healthier. Im not sure what to do w/o getting him mad at me for not wanting to use formula. Has anyone else gone through a situation like this?

  • I breast feed my baby 100% of the time but occasionally when I needed a break my daughter would get formula I see nothing wrong with formula every so often like if your baby is being watched by someone it makes it quicker and easier for them as long as you don't do it to much and the baby becomes nipple confused you should have no issues with doing both but I suggest you try to brestfeed Atleast 85% of the time. I will tell you from experience (bf for 16 months) that you will want a break every so often just to keep you saine! Best of luck!
  • You can pump and freeze the milk, it can be frozen for months, he shouldn't run out unless you aren't producing enough, in that case formula would be your option...
  • Can any one tell me is it normal for my breast to still not be producing milk at 7months?
  • U will not have milk come it till after the baby is born. And u have to feed feed feed after baby is born to get ur milk to come in. Get Dr. Sears breast feeding book. And read read as much as u can as it is a learned art u and baby have to learn how to feed...
  • My daughter wouldn't take formula. Can't say i blame her, have you ever tasted that stuff? Its nasty. I started pumping after every feeding when she was just a few days old, and had a lot of milk frozen anytime i went somewhere. Hubby called me all the time to make sure he thawed and warmed it right!
  • I think u should do both. I know as a father to b I want to help feed my baby. n I can only get to do that if my lil girl also does bottle feeding. u say ur always home n the need to formula feed is low on ur list. well u can pump milk so he can feed the baby too

  • The first years has a new bottle out that makes baby use compression and suction to express milk, just like breast. Its called the breastflow bottle, and it has two nipples. Im having surgery to have my tubes tied after delivery, so I'm going to pump some colostrum before surgery so baby can eat while im in recovery, and we're taking our own bottles to make transition easier.
