When does the second trimester actually start? I've been told 12 weeks nd 14 weeks. Confused O_o

Its technically ever 13wks 2 & 1/3dys. I was curious when I had my first, my OB told me, he wrote it out, broke it down. Made me laugh

The way he explained it was a pregnancy is 40wks. 13wks+13wks+13wks=39wks. Add 2dys+2dys+2dys=6dys 1/3 of 1 day+1/3 of 1 day+1/3 of 1 day=1 full day. 39wks+6dys+1 full day=40wks. Confusing, but makes sense

Lol! I know the feeling. But when it wrote it out, it made total sense. Now I'm on my 5th, so it doesn't run thru my mind anymore.
