can i ask something?

Well I really wanna finish college and make sure I get my nursing career off the ground so my baby will have a great life. But idk it kind of seems like I won't be able to because so far the dad/my hubby is like ignoring the baby and can't have anything to do with us since I sent him the ultra sound pic in a txt message since he couldn't make it to the appointment but I really don't wanna give my baby up but at the same time I wanna give the baby a great life and I don't wanna give up college as selfish as that is. I'm the first person in my family to go too college

  • So continue to go to college unless the stress becomes to great for you or the baby. I hope the dad comes around. I couldnt imagine going through all these changes alone. Good luck, I think you'll do just fine (:
  • Wow, that's a hard decision to make. I just finished my bachelors in December and I have 3 kids, now I'm working toward my masters and I'm prego. Its definitely possible to do, tho you may need a semester off when you deliver. And it's exhausting, but rewarding. I'm lucky enough to have my baby's father here to help, but he works full time and is also working on a master's. If you are determined enough you can make it work.
  • @mama2be ya its very hard =[ but this website is my only help
  • With my first, right after I had him I was working a full time job, taking night classes for my nursing license and taking care of my newborn. Here to tell you, it was very hard and stressful but it paid off. And the father was an Active Marine so he was never home...so really, I didn't have a man there either. I was emotionally and physically drained.
But as I said, it definitely paid off.
  • @lovemyboys thanks =] I already have my cna. But I haven't had any luck getting a job so I'm tryin too move further on
  • @mommy2be92 - So, since you get your CNT license, have you worked anywheres? Nursing home? Hospital? Retirement home?
  • maybe there is some program you could do some courses online and some at school? idk how it works i just know there are online couses..
  • @LoveMyBoys That's the problem every place I looked wants experience and I don't have any and I loved doing it when we were in training
  • @mommy2be92 - Hmm, okay. Do you kinda know how to get in contact with the person that taught the CNT class?

-Also, have you looked into home health?
  • @LoveMyBoys yea I do. But idk if they could help and home healt I have not
  • @mommy2be92 - Okay... Your teacher can write a recommendation for you. Just let them know that you have tried and TRIED to get a job but because lack of experience, you can't seam to get your foot in the door. Ask if they could write up something, nothing long but something that could show you were a good student and through the class you showed to be a very promising CNT....yada yada. Make copies of that and any/ever where you put an application in, also put that recommendation with each. Also, your recommendations on your application should be people you are confident will talk you up very good and know your heart is in caring and CNT. Like, if you took any medical classes in high school-see if those teachers would mind being a recommendation. Heck, they might even do a written recommendation for you too. The more, the better.

And as for Home Health, I would really look into that. Easy work and good money.

Also, about a week or a few days after turning in an application, always call and check up on your application and by doing that shows your seriousness to them. That will always be noted and will give you even more chance of getting a job. Maybe even find out who is in charge of the hiring and set up a appointment with them and speak with them about working there and you know your experience level isn't high but you are determined and care for your residence.

I went through it ALL. LOL
  • I'm in college with just my a & p classed left to go to be in the nursing program and I'm on my second baby. Both weren't exactly accidents...more like surprises and I fully intend to keep going to school
  • Its hard but you can do it. Some programs even have child cates they use or recommend. And the state should melody for child care. You may have to take a lil time off unroll your baby its a little older. But I agree look into the in home care. My friend and her husband both do that. They have a few people they care for, and she beings her baby with her. The older people love seeing her daughter and she still gets to have her baby close.
  • Hey its hard work but its managable I was 17 when got pregnant full-time job and collage the baby wasent planned but I stuck it out. Don't give up and good luck xx
