I have noticed my daughter going through skin color issues.... she wants to be white but I'm reassuring her her skin is beautiful and she her pics of celebrities like Rihanna and Beyonce so assure her she is beautiful no matter the color of her skin. By the way not knowing where this is commingle from plenty of different races in her class but who knows.... all kids have some insecurities.
My husband is African and I'm a WASP. We have tried to honor both cultures in our home. My daughter eats food from both countries. Hears both languages (but doesn't speak any Ga or Twi yet) we gave her an american first name and ghanian middle name. She's little so she hasn't had any problems with kids not playing or anything. We try to find books and toys that honor all skin tones and everyone loves her I think this generation is really going to be different from the last generation. Usually the only people we've gotten "feedback" from are in my parents generation. Most everyone our age just sees us as a family not neccesarily a mixed family.
@mama_kat lol me and my man do that ALL THE TIME! ! we'll be out n about and see black n white babies and always tell eachother...awl! Look at that little guy/girl! We are just so excited and can't wait to meet our gorgeous little baby
My hubby is mexican and I'm white, can't wait to see what our son will look like. its funny cuz in his family I'm the only white girl, and in my family he is the only person that ain't white, I love it. My niece is also half white and half native, and she is the cutiest damn lil girl. I think bi racial babies r sooo cute
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BI-RACIAL COUPLES AND THE BEAUTIFUL BABIES THEY MAKE SO CONGRATS TO ALL YOU BI-RACIAL COUPLES. I'm mixed with African-American, Comanche (Native American), and Puerto Rican. My boyfriend is Spainard and Hispanic, so combine all that together and you got my son, Eduardo Xavier Sanchez III due July 27, 2011. Can't wait to see you mijo. Te amo mi precioso. :X
Well my baby is mostly gonna look white..cus my son does..just hoping this bby get dark hair a light eyes .. son..hazel eyes a light brown hair. Myself-native american/mexican/french husband- white (idk all the mixture:) )
I can't wait to see what my beautiful daughter is gonna look like! I am Irish and my boyfriend is Cruxian. I'm pretty white and he gets soooooo dark when we come back from his mothers house in the islands. My little caribbean pumpkin I know she's gonna have a nice light/medium chocolatly skin color but I hope she's gonna have my crystal blue eyes. I haven't had any issues with anyone sayin something about her being bi-racial but I WISH somebody would because I will not hesitate to snap on somebody QUICK.....ask my man he already know how fast I snap on him LOL
@kennedy24 they are right ur baby is going to be adorible never herd of a black n russian but I have cousins that are black n polish never herd of that btw either although we dnt see them much cuz of the distance I always want them to no jus cuz we have different skin tones we still first cousins n we all love each other the same
My son is gonna be a melting pot lol.his father is puerto rican, jamaican and black. Im dominican white black and native american (I wish I could figure out how to upload a pic!) Im not sure who he will take after or what he will look like but I can't wait to meet him!
My son is half Italian (my side) & half Guatemalan (his blood dad) and my baby im prego w/ is gonna Be half Italian and half Puerto rican - buh both my kids are growing up Puerto rican cause that's my husband & he has taken the role of daddy for my 21 month old son
