im worried im loosing my baby!

I found out I was pregnant over a week ago and now I'm roughly 6 to 7 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I has to go to hospital as I was loosing a ridiculous amount of blood but they said i have to wait until Monday for my scan. I'm only 18 and this is my first baby and I am terrified I am going to loose it. Some people have told me I could be having a period whilst being pregnant. Is that true?

    @MummyForThefirstTime. I'm really sorry to read about what you're going through. Well it is possible to have a period while pregnant. I believe its due to not enough pregnancy hormones but I've read about women who have had them all through their pregnancy. Did it seem like a normal period for you? Or was it heavier? I can't believe they made you wait until Monday, I think that's stupid.

    Well i started off as spotting blood but then within seconds it was really heavy and also dark blood. Bleeding has now stopped, I know I can't believe I have to wait untill then.

    @MummyForThefirstTime. That sounds like a frightening thing to go through and I wish I had some great wisdom to help you feel better. It doesn't sound like a normal period to me but I'm very surprised that you didn't receive better information at the hospital. How long did it last? Have you had any normal symptoms of pregnancy that have disappeared?

    bleeding doesn't necessary mean a miscarriage. I bleed for3 weeks with my baby. Doc said the blood vessel behind the baby ruptured. Try to stay off your feet as much as possible. Drink plenty of water and dont do any lifting. Good luck!

    I had something like this happen to me and i had to wait over a week for a scan to find out that i had misscarried and that was at 6 weeks but didnt actually find out til 3 months :-( but my mate had the same as me at the same time and now has a beautiful baby girl :-D hopeing all the best for u x

    It lasted about 45 minutes, no there wasn't any clots in it but this morning iv found a few clots even though iv stopped bleeding. My sickness symptoms have stopped completely now. X

    You dont ACTUALLY have a period, thats impossible. It's actually bleeding of the cervix. But I would go get it checked. Good luck hun! Keep us posted

    Yea very true. Ma friend was on her period till she was 6 or 7 months.... and she had a healthy baby boy

    Your story sounds just like mines. You might have subchorionic hemorrhage I went to the er on Thursday and they did a sonogram and seen blood under the baby's placenta. Buh don't worry!
    If there was no cramping I doubt your having a miscarriage. Buh I am also not a doctor so I cannot diagnosis you buh this sounds a lot Like me.

    A lot of plp bleed early on. My dr told me this is normal. It sucks tho its a waiting game :(

    Mommytobe1. Yeah your right. When people bleed when they are pregnant they thinks its a period and its not. It's not an actual menstrual period.

    Ive had a previous miscarriage and when I did it started off as spotting then I passed the baby and had a very crampy seven day period...so if u only bleed for 45min its possible u are still carrying....I hope the best too u

    Hi sorry I havnt posted recently, I have had a mc ubfortunaly, still bleeding now but the worst is over thankfully. I'm upset which is expected but I just want to get back to normal now xxx
