Cant see a doc til 10 weeks! (vent)

Ok so I went to the health dep last week to confirm pregnancy. It was confirmed that I was 5 weeks 3 days. They gave me an appt for 2day & said that it wasnt a physical..it was just some mandatory prenatal class everyone had to take and that I would be sceduled for an actual appt within a week or 2 of this appt. So I go today to the class and all and they give me and appy for April 14! Thats 3 weeks from now! I will be 10 weeks before I even SEE a doctor! & they already know im high risk for mc! Im so pissed!

    Join the club... I will get three ultra sounds my entire pregnancy. I am 5 weeks 1 day right now and wont see a doctor until the 14th too... I'm high risk too cause I have a genetic metabolic disorder... Its so frustrating!

    @nov_baby_fitst..i kno right! I thought prenatal care was most important in the 1st trimester! I will be almost entering my 2nd before I even speak 2 dang dr! Plus I have NO pregnancy symptoms so that makes me even more worried.

    Im on baby 4. I wont see dr till 10 weeks. I had to wait till 10w with the other 3 too. And i get 1 us at 20 weeks. That's it. I hate waiting too. I bought a fetal doppler and heard the heartbeat today for the 1st time. I was sooooo relieved and excited!!! Im 8w 3d.

    I didn't have my first consult til 14 weeks and first visit with doc at 17 weeks. This is my first. I didn't even feel pregg. There really isn't much they can do so early. Just take your over the counter vitamins! Everything is perfect with my baby and i am 30 weeks along. You will be a great mommy!

    I didnt see a Dr until I was 18 weeks. They wouldn't even consider seeing me before 13 weeks and we were doin a military move and then I had to wait until my new Dr had openings. It has a lot to do with the fact that in the first trimester nothing can be done. All they'll tell u to do in the meantime is no drugs/alcohol don't smoke eat right and take ur prenatal vitamins

    @homebirthadvocate everyone keeps telling me theres nothing to see but I kno plenty people who have seen enough for the doc to know everything is ok.
    & not stressing is much easier said than done.

    I went in and got tested at 5 weeks. Then they didn't book me until after week 12 cause the first trimester is so iffy. I know it sucks but the more you stress the worse it is in the first trimester for your little bean.4 weeks is not long. Before u know it you'll be at the end wondering where the last 40 weeks went.

    I was 5 weeks when I got my first ultrasound and I was 9 weeks and 2 days when I got my second one and then I was 10 weeks when I had to get the heartbeat of my baby because I had to go to the doctor and the fetal Doppler didn't work and the heartbeat was 179

    I'm going on 7 weeks and I won't see a doctor till I'm 10 weeks either and this is my 5th baby. Just eat healthy and take vitamins you should be ok. But you did say you were high risk. So be careful I hope all works out for you!

    @mulan1582 yes I am high risk so I thought they would see me sooner but they wont. The first nurse I talked too said it would make a difference but the 2nd one that made me appt said it wouldnt so ill be about 10 weeks when I go.

    Yeap same here...I was sooooo super excited but it was like everyone else (drs nurses) been through this I got prenatal vitamins and they was like see u in 4 weeks: ( I just had my first appt now at 11 weeks but I did hear the heart beat it was beautiful I kno u can't wait for that special moment...but yea I filld out more paper work then anything..

    Well ill pray for you and hope that your pregnancy is a successful and healthy one. You have every right to be upset and concerned. Just take it easy.
