  • I had the hip pain with my second, it feels like it hurts everywhere!!!! I would wake up in the middle of the night crying because I tried to roll over...after countless trips to the er, I learned to cope with it, if it is really really bad go to the er, while they cannot prescribe u ne thing, they gave me nubane to get some rest and after I rested my pain normally eased up a lil. hope this helps...
  • Thanks ! I havmt gone to the er jus complain lol I hate it :'(

  • See if you ob can give you a number or address for a physical therapy place...I actually do physical therapy and aqua therapy twice a week because mine hurt so bad. I haven't been able to work for months. (Ill be 34 weeks Tuesday)
  • A UTI can cause that pain to. You might want to get that checked out. If not try a chiropractor. I love going to see mine. Your hips my be a little off.
  • Sounds like Pelvic Girdle Pain (Symphesis Pubis Disfunction). I had it at 19 weeks, it's horrid and makes you thoroughly miserable. I'm now 32 weeks.
It's because you're producing the hormone 'Relaxin' and the muscles round your pelvis are super-duper relaxed ready for birth, thus the pelvis and symphesis pubis area are a little too relaxed and the bones can end up grinding against each other.
You need to visit your GP and get referred to a physiotherapist - well, that's if you're in the UK, I assume not though - or the US equivalent, obviously!
I was given exercises which worked a treat, to strengthen the muscles and after 2 weeks I had virtually no pain and I haven't experienced any problems since.
    Good luck!
  • Thank you all, I am deff guna tlk to my doc about all of these options..its good to know Im not the only one I thought something was wrong !

  • Yes like tishlamort said its pubis separation. I had it with the last one and this one too. It helps if you sleep with a pillow between your legs and roll with it. It has also helped me to get my bottom half dressed sitting on the toilet. Oh and slip on shoes, cause I can't put them on and off by myself anymore! My midwife wrote a prescription for a pregnancy belt that is suppose to help, but we can t find it anywhere. With my last one I could harldy walk it was so bad, I only have 7 weeks left, hope it doesn't get any worse!
  • Yes it OS hard for me to walk too...I got some belt that is suppose to help I'm going to try it tomorrow and I got a boppy support pillow and it doesn't help me much :'(
  • I feel ur pain!! Im 28 weeks n for the last two weeks its hard to roll to my sides, to get up from bed, put shoes on dress from the waist down n even walk. I walk sooo weird that my brother calls me swaddler. Its hard to lift my feet a few inches off the ground even.
