So me and my fiance just found out we are having a boy...and since the beginning we've had our names picked out. So for this one its going to be Abel James. People are saying they are going to call him Abe and make fun of him. What do you think?
I have girlfriends who named their boys Zephiniah and Corban. A lot of joking leading up to it, but they are Seoul and Corban. Awesome kids and no one jokes them. Even better, no one else has those name. I think they are just being insecure because their name has been joked they think everyone gets joked. Not so! I like Abel James, but it is what you guys want and no one else.
I like that name! And with all the different names people are giving kids these days I don't think people make fun of names any more and even if they do I know somebody named Abe and they call him Abe the babe and he is NOT a babe lol
I like Abel...and I don't get y ppl would need to shorten it to abe...its not like Abel is long to start...love the name-and its unique...haven't heard anybody else w the same name.
My ex and his gf named their daughter Zayliegha Cricket. I really don't think naming you sone Able is that bad. And my husband's name is Rill. If this baby is a boy it will be named Rill the 3rd. I really don't think you.can get worse than those names. Or what about the lady who named her daughter La-a (pronounced La Dasha). Able is just fine!!
I think it's a nice name. Have you guys thought about not sharing the name with others until baby is born? That's what I'm thinking of doing because I don't feel like hearing other people's opinions on whatever we select.
We name our oldest daughter Serenity and she is 8. We still get family members that taunt us about her name. I say its your baby so name him what you want. Forget what other people think.
I tell people we havn't chosen any names yet (even though we have) when the baby arrives he or she will be introduced by their name and then everyone can like it or lump it.
I have a close friend named Abraham & we call him Abe or Abram.. all of us close friends call him Abey Baby lol but we don't make fun! Abel is cute girl, your little man should be fine (:
I decided a long time ago that I am going to name my kids what I want and if they don't like it when they are 18 they can pay the $200 and get it changed!
