  • I don't think so...
  • What if they do DNA test
  • @april_n_jermaine what if they dna test
  • Honestly, don't let him give up rights if you want child support. It's a cowardly way out for alot of men to say it's not his. They name call and guilt trip the moms until you give in. Let him take 50% responsibilty for creating this precious baby.
  • if he give up his rights he.dont.wanna b botheted or deal with the.child so ima say no because ima child support child so i kno how the long process goes bur however there are loop holes in the law so b carefull
  • I honestly don't know a lot about it but i don't see y if u have a DNA test done n its his, they should put him on cs. I have no clue about the signing rights over thing! U should look into all of that online on google in ur state. Good luck. I doubt i helped. Hope i did though :)
  • Does that mean I have to put his last Nam @Jamie77
  • No if the dad gives up or loses rights he has NO obligation to the child, that goes for financial and having any part of its life.
  • and if you are not married you don't have to use his last name. its your choice to give the dad that option or not but dad has to want to put his name on the baby
  • I feel like he should pay I didn't make this baby myself n now its up to me to give the child everything she or he needs he can atleast pay up
  • Dang I am so fucked @sdubois
  • If he gives up his right he has nothing to do wit the baby u will not get anything
  • Wow wat an asshole! :(
  • You can fight for him not to give up his rights talk to a lawyer or after you have the baby look up child support courts in your area they can help you fight him

  • You can still have full custody without him giving up his rites. That way you control what you want and he still has to pay. Sometimes the court will take away his parental rites and he still has to pay child support. But it has to be there decision not your request.
  • The last name is your decision. My friend wanted nothing to do with her bd so she let him sign away rights, relinquishing his duties as a father. She had to sign too. Her hubby adopted her son :)
  • Oh okay thanks for your help
  • Look attel it likes this if he wants nothing to do with the baby, don't be afraid to do it on your own!!! I honestly wouldn't wana even go back and forth with someone that could careless about their offspring. He'll get what he has conmin to him.
  • Yeah I know how it feels I was never raised with a father or dad never saw him much
  • I am afraid I'm only 18 I still live with my mom. I have no job no income no car. I feel like I'm not ready but I have to be ready for September 29 :)
  • ohh BTW at the hospital after the baby is born before you leave is where you fill out the paperwork for the birth certificate. If he's not present to sign he is not put on it . And you can choose whatever you want to go on it.
  • You say whatever I want to put can I sigh his name @angieface
  • But I think you should just call & ask a lawyer. They wont charge you just to ask.
  • They will do a paternity test if he doesn't sign the acknowledgement of paternity paper. If he signs his rights away he has no obligation to the baby and will not pay child support. I'm pretty sure they need both signatures to sign his rights away so he can't just do it and screw u.
  • Also u don't have to give the baby his last name. If he signs the birth certificate then he should sign the acknowledgment of paternity.
  • I heard that if the father isn't paying child support even if he signs away rights of the child if the mother goes for state assistance's they will still go after the father. most men think if they just sign over there rights of the child they will get out paying for the child, but some state are going after the fathers even if they sign over there rights. Its there way of getting rid of deadbeat dads. And if they dont pay then they do time in jail.
  • Do they do that in Texas? @Tinkerskids
