edited April 2011 in Pregnant
So I go to my doctors and I see a different doctor everytime which sucks I tell him I'm getting dizzy all the time he dismisses everything I have to say I've been having contration like pains in the lower part of my stomach and a kinda pink discharge when I wipe he totally dismisses everything I say but I have an incompetent cervix all my kids I deliver early I'm 29 weeks today and this is the farthest I have gotten in any of my pregnancies. Then to top it all off he looks at my chart and says I didn't know they did a cerclage on you I'm like common dude did u even read my chart before you brought your overpayed ass in here I just needed to get today off my chest

  • Sounds like a sorry or over worked Dr. Mine is awesome. I picked a resident and he's still excited about practicing. He seems just as excited as me.

  • Me neither!!
  • @junebug86 Let me tell you from the same experience, you should change docs if possible!! My old doc "forgot" to tell me for 3 months that I had a bacterial infection, was anemic, had a magnesium deficiency and had Polyhydramnios. I was spotting thru 22 weeks and he completely dismissed it. I finally changed doctors and had I not done so, I probably would've lost my baby or had some serious complications. My new doctor is AMAZING and has done sooo much for me. I am grateful that I found him, it was a blessing in disguise that my mom had to have emergency surgery on her ovary because if she hadn't, I would've never found him!!
  • @bke913...Where do u live?
  • @betty I'm in Utah
  • Ahhh, nevermind! No luck...
  • @BkE913...where in Utah are you from? I'm from there as well
  • I live in Murray. You?
  • I loveeeeee my doctor
  • When I had my son 6 years ago I hated all the doctors I had! This time I chose a different place and I love everyone there!! I had my 20 wk check up today and my doc came into the room greeting me with a smile, a hug, and all sorts of questions about how I'm feeling and how my day was going...I'm so thankful!! I'm in illinois if anyones looking!
  • @bke913 who do you have? I had an awsome dr but he moved to riverton and I can't keep going out that far. My sister told me to go to hers but I am scaredto go to another dr. Are you delivering at imc?
  • @angel26 No, I am actually delivering at SL Regional because that's where my doc preferrs. He also delivers at LDS but he is very well known and respected at SL Reg, I have had nothing but awesome things said to me about him from the staff up there. Anyways, his name is Dr. Oglesby and his clinic is right there at the medical towers next to the hospital. I live right down the street from IMC and I wish I could deliver there because the drive to the other hospital is kind of long but it's sooooo worth it.
  • @bke913 thank god u found out u had the infection and were able to treat and switch doctors but yeah I was thinking about switching doctors but its not the doctors office is just that one doctor in paticular I'm just going to request dr hechtman she. Knows me inside and out she delivered my daughter and knows all about my history but the thing is she is the doctor so she is busy the other people there that see u r just nurse practioners
  • @junebug86 Awww that is a bummer! My doctor delivers all his babies and sees all his patients. I hope that things work out for you, I think health care is vital, especially during pregnancy. It's no longer just you that needs the care, it's that little one growing inside you that counts!
  • My doctor is not the best either I'm literally there for 7 minutes top every visit I feel like I'm waisting my gas just going and she says the same thing every time ohhh everything looks great
  • Sounds like you could use a new doctor! I would be concerned too.
  • @carley, residents are THE BEST, not only are they totally excited they actually have the most up-to-date information and cannot wait to share it with you... they also don't mind if you call a million times or ask a million questions!
  • One thing about my doctors is they treat me as high risk since I was 6 weeks prego I've been going every week and they have me set up at the hospital to get ultrasounds every week like I said its just that one doctor but yea I would much rather prefer to see the same doc everytime
  • @bke913 I have heard not good things about slr. But that's cool at least you have a dr that will take good care of you. I hope I can find a new dr that will.
  • Hun I think its really time for a new doctor! No pregnant woman EVER deserves to get treated that way!!! My doctor is amazing, I couldn't ask for a better one. You need to switch hun, for your safety and baby's safety. I hope you find a better one really soon hun!
  • Ughh my doctors office has like four nurses or whatever there called that actually deliver babys and the only one i havnt met is the MAIN ONE so aggrivating. people ask me who my doctor is and i dont know what to tell them :(
  • i think its too late to change doc...:(
  • I honestly love my doctor. He is a very well known doctor throughout the area I live in. And he was my ob in 09 also when I have my miscarriage and had to have surgery he did it. He is an all around amazing person. He sits down with me Eveeytime and just asks me how I'M doing. Not many obs do that. He is a lifesaver and has really made this pregnancy easier for me knowing I have such an amazing doctor. I'm happy to say I have an appointment tomorrow to see him (: yay. Anyone that has a shitty doctor should switch cause it will make it that much better. I know i can call my doctor for anything and not feel that I'm bugging him or asking stupid questions.
  • @ChelseaPie my doctor is the exact same way!! He was my ob with my first and preformed my D&C last year after my missed miscarriage, he is always very personal with me and so nice! I get so excited every appointment I have! :)
