Cyst on my left ovary

So at my last Ultrasound the doctor told me that i had a very small cyst on my left ovary but she said it's no big deal. Has this happened to anyone during a pregnancy and did you have any problems with it during or after? She told me that it's no big deal but it's my first pregnancy ever and I'm a little concerned

  • I had a 3cm one found on my right ovary @ first u/s in feb...said it's no big deal they're fairly common in pregnancy. Had an ER trip 4/1 and they didn't see it anymore. I would've never known it was there if they didn't see it, no pain or anything from it.

  • Oook Thanks to all of you ladies. I definitely feel waaaaaaay better now that i know i'm not the only person with a cyst to develop during pregnancy. Sometimes I worry about things too much. Thank God for the Pregly forum. @sopheebaybee143 Not to much information i never knew they could BUST OMG (Ouch) :-((
  • It doesn't hurt but the blood &&clots are enuff to freak one out
  • Ewwwww, yea i had a cryo done back in jan and i had a lot of blood & clots present after and i actually thought i was having a miscarriage but it wasn't it was just the liquid bandage coming out with my cycle. Disgusting i know..
  • I have a 10cm one on my left ovary. I was freaking out at first but it's stayed the same. I can feel the pressure of it but it's not painful and they said it should go away on its own. Hopefully it does.
  • i had one when i went for one of my earrly ultrasounds and havnt heard anymore about it.. id completely forgotten until now i should probobly ask if i make it to my next appt.
  • My ultrasound guy said that side the egg come from cycsts up to keep pregnancy going 1st few weeks till placenta has formed for hormones Ull find it will moat likey disappear on its own
  • ook. Well that's good to know. I thank you ladies. I never had a cyst on my ovary before and was pretty blindsided by it, the doc said it was ok but i kinda wanted to get a 2nd opinion, Someone at work told me the same thing @cheekyerin said. which is wonderful to hear.
  • THEY told me the same thing and not to worry about it....i wonder if it still there im 23 weeks almost so im gnna ask again...
  • I had a softball sized cyst on my left ovary while pregnant with my son & it was sooo painful I thought I was dying before I knew what it was. Too make matters worse I also had an ulcer so I was miserable. When it popped I had never felt pain that horrible before. I pray for anyone that has them they stay small & go away because it is excruciating.
  • I went to he emergency room because I was In so much pain...turns out I had a cyst on my ovary that ruptured. I had my yearly check up a month or two later with my obgyn and they did a ultrasound (i wasn't pregnant) and I had 13 cysts on my right ovary and 10 on my left. my ovaries looked like ladybugs! I cried and cried thinking I couldn't get pregnant. turns out I was wrong. :) now I'm 24 weeks preggo! and no problems so far.
  • I have one on my right side. I'm 9 wks, found this out Tuesday. Said its normal cause it helps produce progesterone (?) While pregnant. Very common and normal.
  • I have a 16cm cyst on my left ovary, and even though my doctor believes it's not cancerous he still scheduled a surgery for me this following Tuesday may 10th to remove it. Seems as it has mass inside rather than liquid so it runs the risk of twisting to where it could cut the blood supply to my ovary and i can loose my whole uterus. I'm real scared, i mean my baby is in there and I've never had surgery before.... it freaks me out.
  • What is a cyst ?
  • I had a 4cm cyst on my right ovary. My doctor told me no sex, jumping, lifting, etc because she did not want the cyst to twist my ovary (you need surgery) if that happens. At my 10 week ultrasound, it was gone. Rest, eat well, and chances ate it will go away on its own. Lots of women get cysts during pregnancy.
  • Well I've heard a lot of people say that it happens during pregnancy and it usually goes away but because of the size and how far along i was at the time it was found, the doctor thinks i more than likely had it before i got pregnant. The cyst was found at around 10wks. I am now 16wks and it has not changed one bit, so he recommended surgery during my second trimester.... which is about now.
  • @I_anaya i found this website when I was googling what it was. I never knew what it was besides it was like a ball containing liquid I found these links that were really usful. it's really good information check em out!

thanks everyone @perly good luck hun I'm sure everything will be fine! Keep me posted thou, i didn't know you can have any kind of surgery during pregnancy but Docs know best. Ill be praying everything is ok with you and baby!!

@countrymommaof2stb3 Yea that's the same thing the doctor told me but you know sometimes some things stick in your head and getting advice from other woman that have gone thru it is very comforting.

@jamiesandefur wow 13 and 10 cysts that's crazy I've never heard of that many before. Your blessed you have a healthy baby on the way. God is good! Congrats when are you due & what are you having?

@StarKrayzie what's an ulcer? I can only IMAGINE how painful a popped cyst can be. Yikes! :O let's hope that never happens again!
  • God is good! I'm due August 24 with a girl. And one of my cysts did rupture (pop) the pain SUCKS! I hope that never happens to you or anyone that sucks. And to top it off they don't do anyhing for it. I now have a $1700 Dr bill for nothing. They told me I have to wait till the fluid from the cysts goes away on its own. Ugh
  • Woow! I'm so sorry!
