Omg hun he is so adorable!!!! Im sooo happy for you!!! Don't get discouraged hun. Is there a lactation specialist at the hospital they will give you a consultation for free? Many hospitals offer it. I hope you can figure it out hun! Don't feel like a failure! You're an AMAZING mommy that has been through more than most women could imagine!!! Please don't let anyone discourage you or let you feel like a failure. I was only able to breastfeed my daughter for 3 weeks, my supply completely dried up even with exclusively pumping and feeding plus pills they gave me to help my supply grow, nothing worked! I hope that's not the case for you BUT if it is, don't feel bad hun, please. You are a wonderful mommy to a handsome little man!!
A great thing to help your milk supply is an herb called fenegreek...trust me it works wonders, and it makes you smell like pancakes Haha.. you can also lay in bed with him for a day both naked, the contact him on your chest will help the milk supply. My daughter was early too and had problems latching on, I pumped all the time and my milk went down I started taking the fenegreek and she was able to latch on and I became a fountain of milk! Good luck honey!!
I got to come home on mothers day my son was born at 37 wk on the 5th. I had an awful time my whole pregnancy with bleeding and preterm labor, they stopped it twice. I spent loads of time in l&d from jan. Invol they finally gave up stopping my labor. He was born with a fever and my placenta was calcified badly. I had a hard 24h labor ,bc his head was turned pushibg against the left. My leg is messed up bc of nerves. He is fine now, we had a couple scares. Im still on med and goin6 back and fourth to the doc I hope everything goes amazing for you. I only read the top comments.

congratulations on your new baby boy. I really try to aviod post that are so long. But I'm glad I took this morning to read about your experience. Seriously you moved me to tears and I'm not a crier. You are definitely off to a great start with your son. Good luck with everything and keep the post and pictures coming.
I stumbled across your thread last night and was hooked! My phone died and I was like "NOOOOOOOO I have t see what happens" despite feeling depressed you seem to have such an upbeat personality and way more wise beyond your years. I'm 21 pregnant with a lil boy and due in september. We are naming him gavin cruz. I saw the pics of your baby andomg does he not have a full head of beautiful hair absolutely adorable. He is soooo tiny but seems so strong. I'm sure he got that from you.
@babyboyontheway. Your lil Adrien is simply adorable and look at al of that hair!! I am so happy for you that everything is getting better for you and baby and Danny. I hear too often thefeeling of defeat when it comes to breastfeeding. Don't beat yourself up if it doesn't ge better. Like you said he will be on th best supplement formula so you know he is getting the best next to breadfeeds. I wish you all the best. Thank you for continuing to post and update us with the progress. I look forward to reading and see more pic.:-):-) take care
I'm just wondering what everybody thinks about using a wetnurse in the event that i cannot bring my milk back?
I had a WIC appointment this morning. And i got my card so i can get 10 cans of his neo-sure formula that his dr recommended if i have to use some. But i really want to give him my milk. Hes still a preemie and its important he gets the best nutrition i can give. A good friend of mine came to visit today and she said that the pump I'm using is probably the reason my milk stopped coming. Its a pump i got free to use for 6 months from my insurance. She had used the same one when she had her son, and her milk regressed also until she bought a different pump. I really don't like it anyway.. i said that th first time i used it. the one in the hospital was awesome and that's when i was lactating the most. Right around the time i came home an started using this one is when i started having issues. Now that she pointed it out, i see the connection. So, she actually gave me her First Years breastpump today (of course i sterlized everything in the dishwasher). Her son is now 14 months old and she is ready to ween him off and let her supply dry up. Apparently she is only pumping every two days now and has another pump that will work fine for drying her up. So I'm going to try this pump the next week or two and see if it helps. And honestly it already seems to be working better, but i want it to work so bad I'm probably just thinking I'm cured. I really hope so.
But the reason I'm asking about a wetnurse is because while we were talking (and i was bottle feeding adrien at the moment) she said that she would be willing to pump for me to give adrien. And i know she is a super health nut when it comes to that stuff and to her kid. Idk how i feel about it. Then, she said that because he was so hungry and was sucking away at the bottle right then that its when i should be trying to latch him on. And then she said "do u want me to try to latch him on me?" Ummm NO THANK U. ok supplying milk in a bottle is one thing but please i don't want my kid suckng on YOUR teet. Is that weird to anyone else but me? I'm not even sure i want her pumping for him if i can't. I told her i would let her know needed her 'services'. Any opinions input or advice? I got a sample of mothers milk tea from WIC, and i was going to look into that fenegren also. I hope this new pump works for me. I do like it better already. For one it doeznt hurt like the other one did. We will see.
You ever see the movie hand that rocks the cradle.. This psycho chick lost her baby and became a nanny at this couples house and started breastfeeding her son.. He wouldnt latch onto the mom anymore.. Only the psycho chick.. Dunno if it could happen like that.. But babies can smell their moms and their moms milk..
Breast milk is supply n demand thingee...ur body will supply if there is demand try to latch him on I know its hard but his suckling movement will help in making milk n keep ur self hidrated drink lots of water hope it helps. U r his MOM ur body is designed to feed him by nature u can produce more than he needs it just needs a bit of hard work leave eveything n sit down relax hold ur baby n think that its u n him that has to make this feeding work u both are learners, so it just needs time I am sure u both can do it ....uv u both u two are always in my prayers best of luck
@jtmoon98 yes i have decided I'm not going to go thru with a wetnurse if i cannot produce any milk I'm using the formula his dr recommended. I'm still trying to increase my milk with pumpinh but it doesn't seem to be working much.:( guess breastfeeding isn't for everyone
