I am 36 weeks as of Sunday, and I had an ultrasound Saturday showing the baby at... exactly 7 pounds! I have a c section in 21 days, but how much bigger will she get? Is anyone else measuring large?
Oh wow, sounds like you all are in The same boat! This is my second daughter and she was only 5 pounds 13 ounces... and she was 3 weeks overdue! I never thought I'd have a huge baby! My husband was a 10 pounder though!!! Ahhh and its like the most painful thing ever, having my whole tummy taken over.
Good luck everyone! @angelsmommy when is your due date?
Grr my dr is frustrating. At my 36wk checkup he told he that I was measuring big and for the next appointment I would need an ultrasound..well..he canceled it..saying even if he is big, at 37wks, he can't do anything anyways... I just wish I had some sort of an idea of how big he is in there lol
@angelsmommy - I am 36w 2 days, but my u/s said 37 weeks, and so does my lmp... my doctor is basing it off first u/s. Kinda scary since I am 2.5 hours from my hospital, and scared of the risk! Ughhhh
@heatherlynn- that's so frustrating! My doctor doesn't really do u/s unless its critical either.. even showing 2 weeks overdue w/ the tape measure thing wont change his mind! I was in ER for sinus infection and I had cramps, so they did one...
And I'll pray for all you other ladies! Its so uncomfortable to have such a big baby! ;-)
im only 19 weeks so not sure how big baby is measuring yet... but my son was only 8lb 4oz (with a different partner) and my new partner already has 2 kids that weighed in at 9lb 10oz and 10lb 4oz so im terrified my bubs will be huge cos i have poped out soooo much faster this time
My second child measured 9 pounds at my 37 week appt. He was so big they immediately scheduled my csection for later that week. He was actually 10 pounds 11 oz. when born. He looked like a toddler on the bassinet.:) they are assuming #3 will be bigger as well.
Baby Sebastian measured 7lbs on the ultrasound at 36 weeks they are estimating him between 9-10 lbs (I have gestational diabetes though) and ultrasounds can be off by several lbs. I wouldn't let it scare you. My personal opinion is that babys that are a healthy weight at birth (8-9 lbs or bigger) are easier to deliver because gravity can work with you. My daughter was 9lb 9 oz and I had a fabulous no drug delivery!!! No tears shorter labor couldn't have asked for better!
@kimman - omg that is huge! @heatherlynn - at least its measuring right on! Sounds like a healthy baby! @eriskegal - wow that's crazy! Did u end up having a c section?
I'm actually a little glad my baby will be bigger. My 5 pounder was very healthy, but so small. It was scary sometimes.
@blissmarie23 - I agree. Anyway for a baby to be natural and drug free is great. I on the otherhand... love the epidural! But I was a c section with my last because I couldn't dilate and her heart was stopping, then she had a bm inside. But I was 3 weeks overdue...

But as long as he/she is healthy, right?!
Diabetes for the win!
