  • I still take baths all the time. I'm on my feet all day so my legs, feet and back get really sore. It helps so much. I like it pretty hot but I keep my belly out of the water lol
  • They say as long as its not hot, like if u have to ease in slowly its too hot...
  • As long as your water hasn't broken (or is leaking) and your baths are not too hot, you can -and should!- take baths right up until delivery. It's a good way to help ease the back & pelvic pain. You shouldn't bathe after your water has broken to avoid infection, unless you're in active labor... some doctors encourage it then to help get through labor, and some hospitals provide tubs specially designed for it. It IS okay to take a bath at home when you're in labor, but I would ask someone else to thoroughly clean and/or disinfect the bath tub first, just to be safe.
    Good luck & enjoy! :)
  • @starrxoxo9 ...they say not to have your bath too hot because it can raise your body tempurature, so it doesn't completely matter if your belly is in it; if it's hot enough to make you sweat, it's probably too hot for baby's safety. :)
  • @vette_devil, its never so hot that I'm sweating lol and I can always get right in, its not scalding or anything lol
  • I took baths almost every other day while preggerz. Baths were the only thing that got me through the last days of pregnacy. 3 days of labore weres on ya. The warm baths help. As long as there not Hot! You'll be good. Kinda missing my baths waiting on drs ok to leap back in..lol I had my baby 4wks ago by c-section.
  • I didn't know you were ment to stop :/
  • They say to have baths when contraction'ing to ease them :/ and you can have a water birth so don't think you have to stop
  • My doctor says its ok! But make sure your tub is clean clean!
  • NEVER! I still take hottt baths as long as i dont feel faint and its not burning my skin

  • @starrxoxo9 ...No worries, then, hon! ;) I was just saying that 'cause everyone has a different idea of what a "hot" bath is; my husband's idea of a hot bath would burn the skin off of me, lol... I like a "hot" bath, too, but only when I'm not preggo. ;) I'm too hot already right now, lol...
  • Never! I'm 38 + 5 and still taking them about every other day :)
  • I just got out of a warm bath!! Im 37 weeks and baths are the best thing for my hip and pelvic pain!!

  • I'm due in 3 days and I still take baths. I also did it with my 1st pregnancy and he turned out fine.
  • Ohhhh I am jealous. My hubby is renovating our bath and we only have showers!!!!!
  • According to baby books and and most ob's you dont have to quit taking baths but having a bath water temp over 99 degrees can be life threatening to the baby due to the rise of your body temperature, at ANY time during the pregnancy. Its possible that the baby will over heat and it can cause severe brain damage as well as death to the child. Not trying to be a bummer, just repeating what the baby books i have read and what my ob has told me.
  • So u can take them if dialated
  • @Rissalee7 - Yes, unless your doctor tells you otherwise for any reason. Just make sure your bathtub is very clean to avoid any risk of infection.
  • Ok thank you my hips are killing me and I so was hoping to take a bath
  • I would say as long as u can get in and out, zause unlike me once I'm in I have to be pulled out
  • I'm 38weeks and still take baths lol I'm surprised I can even still get out! It helps me relax at the end of the night!
  • Thanks ladies! My aunt said i need to stoo taking baths soon or i might go into premature labor :/
