Were i live there's lots of breast feeding facilities in shopping centres but also alot of the retail stores let you use dressing rooms which is good i will be using these facilities when breast feeding, also just to tell you a funny story my aunt breast fed and when at my house went up stairs in my mum's room and they was building new houses just outside so this fella went past in a crane staring at her lmao
@homebirthadvocate that is what I thought. I love broccoli, that was my main concern. I know baby food now has a lot of preservatives and I want to keep her away from those as much as possible for as long as possible. I figured you would be the one to ask about that. Lol. Thanks
@KrazymomofAdrian it depends were you are i suppose i now live in country side were if i was to do it in a restuarant no one would bat an eyelid but if i did it in a restuarant in town i think i would get some dirty looks but like i said a lot of places have breast feeding facilities or if not they will try accommdate you i.e dressing rooms or staff rooms which is good i think
That's so true @samiuk but that doesn't stop me. Oh ha funny story me and my cousin who is also breastfeeding were at the beach and she whipped it out, mind you we were in a more secluded spot and this guy who was fishing stared the whole time, then I finished with Adrian when my cousin noticed and shouted "HEY YOU WANT SOME?" He was so embarrassed it was so funny lmao.
I breastfed my son in public, but I was always covered. I think just out of respect for others as long as you're covered with a blanket or something its perfectly fine!!! I too had a lady come up to me and try and tell me I had no respect for myself! I told her she was stupid! She said, have u noticed how many men are looking at you?? And I told her, im completly covered with a blanket and I can't tell people to not look at me im not doing anyone any harm! And then she had the nerve to tell me that men where imagining my breasts! And sucking on them just like my son was! I thought that was so disturbing for her to say and I told her to efff off or I would punch her! So I walked away.... people can be so rude sometimes. Nothing we can do! Oh well! Thumbs up to breastfeeding and I plan on breastfeeding my daughtr too
@krazymomofadrian. When I was nursing my daughter we went on a road trip to Philadelphia. We stopped for a day in Lancaster, PA at some seedy hotel/nightclub with about 100 people outside. (Thanks hotwire :-q ) before we could make reservations to another hotel my daughter had to.nurse. four guys stood outside of our car and stared at me the whole time. In full view of myself and my husband. I told my husband we should leave and go anywhere. These guys got in there car and followed us!! We finally lost them but I will never forget that night. Needless to say we didn't stay in that hotel. (And I would discourage people from staying overnight in Lancaster.)
@KrazymomofAdrian lmao that is so something i would say if someone was staring think I'll take my bro with me he's really protective so if any one was to say anything he'd flip out at them lol
Yeah I'm in the UK too, loads of shopping centres have special areas now where you cam breastfeed and change your baby. I have used them to breastfeed my son when he was little. I would also go into cafes/restaurants etc, find a secluded spot order a drink and do it there. I never exposed myself and kept it as discreet as possible and never had any complaints! I personally wouldn't feed in a toilet, we would never be expected to eat in one! I think the UK is still a little behind other European cities, I went to France and they don't bat an eye to you doing it wherever is comfortable, but it is getting a lot better!
