  • did they give you the numbing medicine that you spray on? dang, i cant remember what its called
    you can get it otc though! just have ur s/o go to the pharmacy and explain. theyll give it to him. you can try a sitz bath as well. i have heard they do wonders- but i just felt to weird to use them
  • Oh man I also just had one stich and it burned like he'll :( but I agree with survivormommie3 they have the spray my hospital gave it to me you should ask
  • They should have gave you spray for that its called dermablast. You can get it at walmart. You could also try to put a washcloth over the stiched area and pee. I had to with my 1st son cause I had 4 stiches. You might get pee on your hand but it won't get to the stiches.
  • A cold bottle of water to squirt down there helps some too. But that numbing spray is the best

    They didn't give me any kind of spray, does this dermablast have side effects?
    I've heard of the sitz bath, my mom is at the store looking for the stuff for me. The peeing on the hand would be fine for me, except its super high up, I'm not sure if I can get at it although I'm willing to try!!

    Thanks ladies, I absolutely HATE this. I just want to be done with the pain so I can enjoy my baby!
  • I sprayed the dermablast on top of a tucks medicated pad and place it on my pad. It helped me.
  • Use any spray bottle and put warmish water in it, then spray while you pee. My friend said that helped a lot. I've only had c-sections so I can't speak from experience, but she swore by it.
  • @magcaw I've done that, and it helps some for sure, but its not 100% thanks tho!!

    @jcmommy what's a tucks pad??

    @kamlland1 just regular salt?? I'll give it a shot too. Thanks.

    Tucks pad is a medicated hemeroid pad. I helped me with the pain. Plus it kept the area moist and helped it heal and the stitches to dissolve. They gave me some in the hospital with my first born so that's how I know. It's sort of pricey..
  • Ohh okay thanks @jcmommy it might be worth it for this pain to go away. It's the worst feeling ever. I'd rather go thru labour again, I swear.
  • There is no side effects on the dermablast. Its cold as heck when you spray it on but it takes out the pain. And if you get a bad sun burn or any kind of burn it helps on those too. Tucks pads are AMAZING too. Lol. I used them with every kid except my last 2 cause I had dermablast. And I only had stitches with my first. Lol.
  • The tucks pads btw are witch hazel. If you take ur squirt bottle and put a bit of witch hazel in it then it will help a bit :) you could also put some witch hazel on something and freeze it and put that on ur pad..

  • Dermaplast was a lifesaver when I had my daughter. Its in the first aide aisle, but the hospital gave it to me. I had a bunch of stitches and hemmoroids and to the day I say the two weeks after giving birth was more painful than anything I experienced during labor.
  • I filled a water bottle with warm water and witch hazel and squirted myself as I peed, front to back, and then gently patted my girl bits dry.
  • I agree w/ the tucks pads. put them on your pad even - wiping always irritated the burn more for me so pat and use ur warm water bottle spray every time you go. i loved to put water on thinner pads and FREEZE them. Nothing like a cold pad when youre on fire ;)
