plez help with name

I am want to name my daughter Janiya but my family says its ghetto and she won't get a job with that name. They keep telling me to name her Julia bc my name is Jewel...PLEZ ladies tell me what u think bc I dnt want my baby to have a ghetto name

    I think the name is pretty. It's your baby, your parents already had their chance and everyone else can have their own baby lol

    @JerseyMommy ... You are the parent and have to make the ultimate decision. There are a lot of people who may look at her name on a resume and look past it... BUT the thing you have to decide... is do we want to cater to small minded people like that?

    Im a realist. Its a nice name and isn't ghetto,but is considered ethnic.which means she will pre-judged by employers.My college roommate
    name was Lashaye,three of us applied for a job together.my other roomate and I(Kasey and Antoinette ) were hired.When Lashaye reapplied with her middle name she was hired immediately. It is your choice but sadly the worlds not perfect and you want to give your child the best opportunity.
