MikeandRonAdoptWe are good. Sorry an update is so long overdue. We couldn;t be happoer. Ellie is overall very healthy. She has some of the more minor issues with having been born addicted (wanting to be held constantly primarily) which we are more than happy to oblige. We love her to pieces. We just had her welcome to the family party at a local restaraunt. We had so much fun. She is so loved by so many people...

I was wondering if you two do not have a female close friend that would be willing to carry a child for y'all. Maybe even this way one of you could have some genetic input? I also think it would be so rewarding for y'all to experience the journey of appts and delivery.

MikeandRonAdoptWe have a number of friends who have offered. Surrogacy is tough. It's very expensive... Between medical testing, insemination, finding an egg donor (because you don't usually use your surrogates eggs). While all that is great for some people... it's a little too much for us, PLUS you can spend 50k+, and while we're ok financially, we don't have 50k laying around anywhere. lol. Lastly, even though this journey has been SO tough... with us being a family that just cannot make babies, there is something that feels very right about adoption.

MikeandRonAdoptNothing Yet. It's down to 3 families... Us, a single mom and a straight married couple. She is due 8/25 and with the heroine exposure could verywell go early. SO, even if this is another close call for us, atleast we won;t have too long to wait to find out. Dont worry ... if something happens, my preglies will be among the first to know :)

We've had a couple close calls including a really bad one just a couple weeks ago. We 'advertise' on a couple different social neworking sites. MikeandRonAdoptSurrogacy is even more expensive than adoption. We've already paid for the adoption, we just do as much as possible to get our names out there bc our Agency doesnt do nearly enough advertising, thus out 20 month+ wait...

mrsrocketfield1221I'll never get a lot of people... so sad.. but if they're going to be like that then they really dont seem like the kind of person you'd want to trust in with an adoption. A lack of respect at the start is a good indication of more to come... which you certainly don't need!

MikeandRonAdoptIt just doesnt make any sense to us. I know we're all really strangers on here, but you can read peoples posts and get a feel for who they are as people, whereas going to an Attorney, you'll get matched up with complete strangers who you really know little to nighting about.

MikeandRonAdoptNah... It takes a lot to gross me out. We have all kinds of friends... Ron especially has a million and one girlsfriends, so topics like that aren't an issue. Plus, if we adopt a girl we have to be open to talking about that kindof stuff if need be ;)
