anyone else 24weeks or less & buying stuff for baby?

I'm 24weeks & just started to buy a few things for my little one yesterday. Honestly, if I could have started shopping 6weeks ago after finding out the gender, I would have, but my husbands stubborn & doesn't understand the preparedness mentality of a mother lol. I have 16weeks or less to go & even though I don't need anything big I'm worried I won't have everything I need in time. Maybe I'm just worrying myself, hubbys already agreed we'd pick up stuff for baby every paycheck. I'm just way to anxious!

  • I'm 21 weeks and I finally feel ready to start shopping. I'm going to lose my mind and act a fool!
  • I'm 23+3 and pretty much have everything :D have done for a couple of weeks now
  • @blueberrysmom, I was so ready from day one honestly but it's so much easier to shop once you know what you're having. Luckily the only big thing we need to buy is a swing, otherwise we have all of our gear from our 1yr old. So really there's not too much to worry about but I'm freaking out lol. Technically my baby could come early, I had my little guy at 36weeks.

@RobynnRawks, whoah say what? Did you have a shower or anything? Lol. I had to remind my husband time after time that we need to slowly start buying things before it finally hit him. Like I said above, luckily we have all the baby gear from our 1yr old so that's a big sigh of relief but we need a whole new wardrobe & whatnot because this babys coming into the world a whole different season.
  • I started @ 6 weeks and only have crib and carseat left to get now @ 24 weeks (sheepish grin)... couldn't hold back ...

  • I'm 24wks and we already have the crib, bedding & travel system... and we found out 2 weeks ago what it was and have a bunch of clothes already! The bed i bought first way back towards the beginning, it was on a HUGE discount sale so i took it as a "sign" lol :)
  • I started shopping @ 19 weeks when we found out we were having a girl but if the hubby would have let me I would have started buying gender neutral things way before
  • I find out the gender next week at 22 weeks and will start shopping then. I do already have the crib up, just because it was my sons.
  • @blueberrysmom, what is it like a glider thing? We're getting the fisher price Zen collection swing, it goes side to side & back & forth, mobile on top, soothing sounds & music & my favorite part is that it plugs into the wall instead of having to buy batteries every week!

@Ourlittlenugget, if I made the money I would totally be done by now lol. But my husband makes all the money in our household so it's been a little rough trying to explain to him that this needs to be done asap!

@mshahir, oh I know! Lol. This is baby #4 for me. My youngest is 1yr so fortunately we have all of his baby gear practically new still I'm just big on buying new clothes, blankets, bottles etc all the little stuff that gets worn & stained.

@firsttymemom, I have my crib, pack&play, carseat, double stroller, infant tub & a bath seat, a bumbo seat, & toys from my 1yr old. Not to mention a pile of clothes I have to sort through to see what I'm going to keep & what will even work with the seasons my baby will be growing into. I want to get a new cribset & we are getting a new swing becauuse we sold ours so we could get one that plugs into the wall.
  • we have alot of stuff but not everything, lots of clothes from friends and family, a crib changing table, and misc stuff... and i am 20+1
  • 23wks and havent gotten a thing.. however i still have alot of stuff from my 14month old.. so i wont have to buy alot of the big stuff.. i do need to get, a double stroller and a new carseat for the new baby and possibly for my 14month old.. not sure yet.. but this is my third so im not in a rush.. lol..

  • @momma_tiffay Men! My hubby's been a little pokey getting with the baby program, too... ;-)
  • @mrsSilver, it's so hard to find gender neutral stuff I swear! I did look every once in a while before I knew what I was having, but anything yellow either had a truck or a cat with a bow on it majority of the time lol... so not neutral.

@sands3, are you hoping for a boy or girl?
  • Girl!!!
  • I have 2weeks left until my due date and I have soo much stuff! I still have to stop myself when I go to the store. Haha
  • im 15 weeks and i have already started shopping, i keep all the receipts tho lol, i want a girl so bad that i thought that if i go out and buy everything for a girl that it would just have to go my way because im the pregnant hormonal woman and its supposed to be my way lol hopefully it works and i wont have to take anything back :) lol
  • We found out at 16 weeks and bought right away :) Actually we bought a swing a while back at a yard sale it was brand new!
  • Nope I still haven't had my baby shower lol, they ain't really big things in the uk. I started buying from 6weeks pregnant because I was so excited. :D
  • @sands3, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Apparently I'm not destined to have girls lol.

@jcmommy, lol nice. It's good to be prepared ahead of time!

@baby2dec14yayy, what does your mothers intuition say? Good luck!

@Brea_Brees2011, I think everyone does a little shopping right after that big ultrasound lol. & wow, that's awesome!

@RobynnRawks, dang that sucks :/ but good for you on getting a head start lol. :)
  • Yea...all yall with boys...stay away. Lol! You, Krista, and Natasha.
  • Am 24wks and haven't bought a single thing yet, for some reason I thought was a bit early and I didn't want to look too eager. I always go window shoppin but never buy but now I see u guys comment I fee inclined to start now...lol
I was planning to do one big shop at around 28wks..

  • I bought my first baby item today!!! It is a long sleeve yellow onsie with a duck on it
  • @sands3, I'm in the lead with the boys lol. & yay for duckies! :)

@sexysecondtimemom, everyone has a different plan, that doesn't mean you're wrong for waiting. For me, it's most convenient to start shopping now, little by little because I have 2 children at home as well as bills while my husband is the only one who works & we will not be having a baby shower.
  • I started the day I found out my little bean was a girl! :) I was exactly 20 wks! :)
  • If its a boy I won't need to buy any clothes. Between my son and my nephew, he'd be set.
  • I started buying things @ 10 wks. I dont plan on having a shower unless im carrying multipules. I have all the bigger items already, just waiting for gender u/s to buy clothes. Gl.
  • I'm 21 weeks and just starting to buy stuff. I'm going to buy one big thing every month. I'm going to order my crib July, bedding august and swing September... And so on.
