anyone else have a preemie or expecting one?

I had my baby 9 weeks early. She is now home with me. Anyone else dealing with bringing home baby from nicu? She hates the dark and is almost impossible to get into a deep sleep. She startles herself and hates to be wrapped up tight. Also doesnt like to sleep flat. She is wearing me out

    I had my son at 27 weeks. I sent you a message just to see how you were doing. It is very stressful! He is 12 now but I can help you in any way. Questions....ask away I have a mental and written journal of my premie and the nicu. By the way I am 13 weeks prego with one that very likely will be early.

    Im just curious as to whether you had any signs leading up to 31 weeks that you could have the baby early? Im 28.5 weeks now, nothing out of the ordinary as of now.

    I'm expecting a premie I'm 24 weeks now and will b 25 on Sunday...I have a short cervix and they said they're hoping I go to 34 weeks but think she will come earlier then that ...I'm really scared bc I dnt kno the survival rate for babies born as early as 25weeks....has anyone had a baby that early I have a lot of questions

    Ours will most likely b a preemie. I've gone into preterm labor twice now. And I'm only 29 weeks. The dr is drying his best to make sure I get a couple more weeks of baking done. Hopefully she doesn't come before 32 weeks

    @lilpeapod913 I had incompetent cervix. Went for 26 week check up complained of mucous discharge. Dr checked me and I was completely thinned. My bag of water was hanging out. Put on Bedrest till I had her. Eventually I got a tear in my bag and got an infection leading to labor.

    We could be expecting one but at 36 weeks I am 2 centimeters dialated and went into preterm labor last week and they got it stopped after 12 hours so I have procardia just untill 6 pm tommorrow and after that I could possibly go back into labor

    I had a premature daughter cause the doctor broke my bag of water by accident ,now she's 2 she did really good and the best I for her I think was breastfeed her that help.her a lot

    @nena18_labori im breastfeeding too. She wants to eat all the time lately. Did you have a hard time getting her to sleep?

    @mshahir she was 30+5 weeks. In nicu for 4 and half weeks

    Sometimes if I ate something that give her too much gas she will not sleep untill next day

    My daughter was a preemie. She couldnt sleep laying down flat. She would startle easily. But she is 16 mths now and doing great!

    @mollysmama how did you get her to sleep at night? I find myself letting her sleep in my arms just so I can get sleep. I don't want to keep doing it tho.

    My son was born at 34+5 he stayed in nicu for 10 days and is now 7 1/2 weeks old. He's adjusting to home really well,sleeps thru about anything and wakes himself to feed. I was only able to breastfeed for 18 days and i dried up due to his premature birth i just didn't make milk like i would've liked. Idk if this is due to his early birth or not, but he seems to have a milk allergy to formula and the only kind he can handle is soy formula.

    My son was born at 29wks 6 yrs ago. He was in nicu for 7 1/2 wks. He had troubles sleeping when he came home, I started putting the tv on so it was a "bright" light with noise

    @salsabia thats what I had to do. That was the only way she would sleep. We did start putting her in the bouncy seat to sleep for awhile.

    Im expecting a preemie...im 32 weeks and she's just now at 3 pounds..im just wondering how long she would be in the hospital.

    I'm 23weeks with twins. I'm trying to keep my boys in as long as possible. I'm pretty sure I'll go into preterm labor. I've already been to l&d for false preterm labor. I get intense and consistent braxton hicks for sometime. I'm on bed rest right now:(. Reading everyone's post is reassuring but also makes me worry at the same time. This post was very helpful.

    @salsabia I read an article about a survival preemie @ 21 weeks.... the mother was spposed to had her in labor @ 18weeks.. but she lied to the doctor she said her baby was 21weeks at that time... so the dr said wait till 24weeks...beco they said if a baby born @ 21weeks or less they will not even try to survive the preemie...and she don't wnt that to happen ...so even she felt worse and had a high fever...she didn't told the dr...when the time reach to 23 weeks 6days.. she cnt hold on anymore..so they did CS labor to saved the baby and once they got her she's breathing and fighting...but @ the end the dr ask how really old the baby was.. she said sorry and told the dr she is only @ 21weeks... she weight 6oz...the dr can't believe the baby was only 21 weeks...he said if he only knew..they wont help the baby and let her survive... insane dr lol :) but the baby is fine now... :)

    I'm praying that I don't go into preterm labor, I've been having signs of preterm labor... Dr said I need to do everything in my power to keep him in till at least 32 weeks..

    @morganpatrice Ava stayed in nicu little o er 4 weeks. I had her at 30 weeks 5 days. I also got steroids to help develop her lungs. The steroids worked great. She had no breathing problems. She was basically in the nicu just to grow. They will not start orally feeding babies until 34 weeks. She got fed thru a tube at first. Baby has to eat, gain weight and maintain a good body temp to go home.

    Okay i was wondering i will be 33 weeks tomorrow and im on bedrest and they are planning on taking my baby any day now because of preeclampsia and my protein level going up and down. I already got the steroid shots last week. And right now she's weighing a little over 3 pounds.

    @salsabia. I may be having a premie and I was wondering how were you still able to successfully breastfeed? Was she able to latch on still that premature? That is one of my main concerns because I still want to bf but I really don't want to have to pump.

    @tlj2011 she was so tiny when I started breastfeeding her that Ive had to use breast shields. She is gaining weight good. I do still have to pump because she eats so little and doesn't stimulate breasts enough through the shields. I don't pump all the time tho. Just a few times a day. Its going well.

    I may be expecting. Im not sure what to expect really. My specialist said my baby is small for me being 28 + 5 weeks. She measures at 27 week baby. Iam considred high risk so im not sure what to expect

    Theres a high chance i will be having a preemie . was put on modified bedrest at 22 weeks because of contractions and my cervix thinning then monday was put on strict bedrest was in L&D having contractions and they couldnt stop them used IV emptying my bladder and TERB that slowed them down and made them weaker so they sent me home im 40% effaced and cervix is no longer closed but can only fit a finger in .. going today to get checked ..(my mom and gma couldnt hold full term either we all have a low cervix)

    i havent had an U/S since i was 22w and im scared shes measuring small
