I was just wondering because I'm thinking it may be easier for when I have her outta townfor a few days or when someone else is babysitting. Also we are going on a day trip today and I don't want to nurse in public
I do have a few feedings pumped but I was thinking in case they weren't enough for the whole day if I could just supplement one or two feedings @ashleyfew
I don't nurse in public, not because I have anything against it but Im just a private person, so I bring formula when we go out. I also supplement 2-4 feedings a day with formula, my daughter is more satisfied that way. Only problem with supplementing is that you will still need to at least pump every 2-3 hours to keep your supply up.
I supplement about 2 feedings a day. Ava is starving all the time. It satisfies her longer. I make plenty of milk. She just wants to nurse all the time for comfort. Only time I can get work done is to fill her up with formula
Thank u everyone for advice. I didn't know if it was a bad thing to do or if it wasbad for her. @salsabia my daughters name is Ayva too! and she is also always hungry lol
Awesome thanks u guys. I was thinking about doing half and half as well for babysitters in case I don't have enough stocked up. @minirip @Proudmomma I'm pumping and nursing. Mainly nursing at night and pumping during the day
I only breast feed half time and formula half time. It makes my life so much easier and she is always hungry and I can't feed her for 30-40 mins at a time every two hours the way she wants, my doc was happy with it since she still gets breast milk
@jazzi89 I make a 2oz forumla bottle (forula and water) first then add 2 or 3 oz of breastmilk. Just make sure its all room temp. And not a stupid question I asked too
Haha I felt the same way! You learn as you go. Also when baby is a little older (this is from my experience my baby is 2mnths) do half and half bottles at night before bed and it may help her sleep through the night more because she's more full. There's also a thread on here I read where it said the first milk baby gets is sugars n stuff and the second stuff (hind milk) is the fatty stuff that fills baby up. So don't pump til your empty unless your trying to make more milk. And I've been feeding baby off the same breast for two feedings so she gets more hind milk. If that makes sense?
