Okay: here are the reasons I have trouble falling asleep.

1. My back hurts a lot no matter what position I get in. I even took a bath and massaged it with sprayer.
2. I have zantac but apparently it doesn't work and I have bad heartburn :'( I just drank milk I hope that helps
3. My hands go numb unless I move them :(
4. I get sharps pains in my buttocks that startle me and make me uncomfortable. I'm gonna by prep h tomorrow the wipes aren't helping!
5. Janson decides that nightime is great time for the hard kicks :) right when I'm finally about to sleep.... BAM!

SO, HOW THE HECK DO ALL YOU PREGLIES MANAGE TO SLEEP!!!!!!!!!! Im only 24 weeks, I'll take any adice at all! Lol and sorry for halfway complaining :)

Tums help a lotttt if the Zantac isn't working... Also sleeping propped up on a few pillows! And my legs go numb too!! Haven't found a remedy for that yet lol sorry! I just have to keep switching positions :(
  • It only gets worse! Lol but I found one way I like to sleep its weird and hard to explan but I kinda twist my body to the side as if I was laying on my belly to start. So I twist so I'm not on my belly and my head is as it would be If I was sleeping on my belly. Hahaha idk. Its like I'm on my side and belly. Its weird but it works for me lol.
    Goodluck!:)
  • Jeez. That sucks. Maybe take some Benadryl?

@soontobe that sounds complicated haha thank you though! I feel niave for thinking there was a super secret cure all pregly symptoms way of sleeping :)
  • Hip pain sucks from sleeping on sides even though I have a body pillow. I'm 33w3d I share the misery. ..hence why I am still awake at 1am burping every 2mins.
  • @blueberrysmom what's benadryl? Lol id take anything right now!

@mshahir it may be selfish but I feel better knowing I'm not the only one lol I'm gonna find a way to make sleep during pregnancy a breeze and become a millionaire! What really sucks is when you finally fall asleep.. then wake up because your bladders so full its throbbing :( like come on really? Lol

  • I remember thinking the same thing. Somehow we just do make it. We are women our bodies made for this we suffer through it cause we all know its worth it. We will make it don't worry. Like my mama told me "pregnancy will make a woman out of you". Time flies by before you know it you will not be sleeping cause of a crying baby. I think this is nature's way of preparing us for what is coming.
  • Gaviscon for heartburn... prop up on pillows... sleep with 4 blankets, 2 pillows and a knee pillow (My hubby says Im building a fortress to keep him out!!) ... frozen water bottle that I drink when heartburn comes again... Sometimes go downstairs for drinks of milk if it gets worst... roll/tuck blanket behind small of back for counter pressure... (I know its all jumbled up... Sorry)
  • Vernors works wonders on my heartburn

I'm 24 weeks too and I have a pregnancy pillow...i used one with my previous pregnancies too and I don't think I could sleep without it! Lol it a back n belly pillow so it snuggles me all around. I sleep on my side mostly but since it supports the back too I sometimes lean on the back side so I'm not fully lying on my back. Google leachco back n belly :)
  • I take Benedryl every night... And then just toss and turn. I don't get heart burn but I have terrible acid reflux, I had to g get a prescription for it. Protonix, it makes my stomach stop producing acid. I just sleep with lots of pillows but never really get comfy.... :(
  • @soontobe I know what you mean. I sleep like that 2. Its like sleeping on my stomach but im on my side 2. & I kind if pull my leg up alittle towards my stomach a little. Its the best position ive found so far. It works MOST of the time but still not always.
  • I sleep with a pilliow between my legs. I sleep with 2 pillows to the right side of me. That way when I sleep on my left side, I have some type of back support. It also helps with accidentally layin flat on ur back. For the heartburn, Tums work pretty good for me. As for the numbness & pain, sorry can't help u there. Jus somethin we have to bear with!
  • Ive given up all hope for getting sleep. I used to strap disposable heat packs toy back. Then my mother gave me the one you put hot water in, that helps some. Then I invested in a Snoogle. Im not sure Im satisfied with it as yet though. Im a side flopper. I cant stay on one side for too long, I get numb. So I guess the one @myHEARTZx3 suggested sounds better. Ive only had this for two days, normally I wouldnt return it but screw it, I need comfort. Tonight I have a new complaint, my butt is numb. Ugh three more long months :(
  • @babybubba123111 yeah I had the snoogle with my last pregnancy...i loved it lol the one I got now is the same brand but just the newer version I guess...it is hard to flop side to side but I try to stay on my left side the whole night since its supposed to be better...but thankfully I.don't have a hard time sleeping YET haha
  • I have a.body pillow angled between my knees/thighs, a pillow tucked under my lower mid back and another pillow that over lays that one kind of but more center of my back, another pillow that goes under my belly bcuz it helps prop my body on my side and eases the pressure with squash pillows, and then two pillows under my head so my head is elevated to help with my heartburn. It's worked for the last three months for me. I cantel see my hubby at night, but i sleep a little easier. I hope something helps u mama!!
