Bugs in spaghetti noodles?!

Im one of those who tend to worry about what they eat, and I'm sorry if I sound annoying, but I just want to be safe. Well my mom cooked spaghetti and I noticed the noodles had black dots on them. I quiestioned my mom about it and she said its safe to eat and she made sure the noodles didn't have any bugs in the package. So I went ahead and ate it, ignoring the fact that the noodles are old, the sauce she used was opened from 2 months ago, and I'm not sure if the meat is cooked completely through. After I finished, I saw the noodle package in the trash and noticed that it had dead bugs inside and what looked like larvae. Now I'm worried. Is my baby safe? What should I do?!

    OMG! *shudders* WHY WHY WHY...why did you mother let you eat something old?????? *shudders again* thats one of my worst fears. I would call your dr. maybe your OB and a a family dr. Just please dont take it too light. Baby may be fine but I would hate to know something happened to you once the larvae hatched. Hopefully the acid in you stomach would be able to kill them before they reach your digestive tract. I seriously know nothing about this and maybe Im over reacting but please just call both dr's when you get the chance.

    @BabyBubba123111 My family is annoyed with me because I tend to worry about if the meat is cooked or what ingrediants are safe to eat but I just want them to understand that I just want to be safe. So if I tell my mom about, she will just brush it off ans say I'm being sensitive. Thanks though, ill call my doctor right now.

    Bugs arnt poisonous just gross. Undercooked meat would be the problem

    Pregnant or not why would someone cook and serve something like that? That is beyond disgusting, sauce goes old (unless it was frozen and she thawed it today) but if it's been opened and just sitting in a cabinet or fridge for two months then it has long since gone bad... and bugs in a noodle box???...
    I'm more worried about the sauce and noodles then the meat.

    The sause is what id worry about. Im a food manager and that would ne the concern. The bugs in the noodles aren't anything to worry about those are like meal worms/ meal bugs I think is what they are called. They get into flour also. If you end up sick you'll know sorry to say. If the sause was cooked to temp. Or past temp it should of killed off the "bad". Good luck hun. Sorry if I wasn't much help. But like I said the bugs are ok.

    I called my nurse and she said my body is going to digest it, and everything should be fine with my baby. She's going to call people to verify though, so I just have to wait for her call and see what she says. I hope everything would be fine.

    Screw ur family! Sorry to say that but u can never b too safe when it cones to food! Im very cautious with food safety! I label everything! Plus I bake my own breads and shred my own cheeses n stuff because its way safer. Food=life! One bad chicken can kill u! One worm can kill u or cause retardation on ur baby! Hook worms attack unborn babies brains! I looked it up cause my dog n cat had worms and I was scared I did! Lol! Just b careful plz!

    Lol I just had to chase my hubby out of my kitchen im frying ground turkey n he was trying to pick at it n its not cooked through! Damn men!

    Spaghetti noodles have little dots on them. There just grains.

    @mandac10 I know what you mean! Its like I wouldn't be so concerned but now that I'm pregnant, I'm responsible for my babys life and health as well, and I just want to be safe. I usually cook my own food but I was just hungry to pass it up at the time.

    @Mimii36 my mom didn't mean it, she says she didn't see the bugs, and I know she wouldn't let me eat if it she did cuz she knows how freaked out I get! Lol today I was in tears cuz I was so scared.

    @lae3 thanks so much for reassuring me! I just dnt want anything to harm my baby, knowing cuz of something I ate and could have avoided.
