raid max for fleas

edited September 2011 in Babies
I am one frustrated Momma. We have 5 dogs and every year we put stuff all over our 1+ acer yard and treat our dogs for fleas and have NEVER even seen a flea in over 4 years. Now suddenly, with all the dogs living outside for the last 11 months, we suddenly have fleas in the house!!! Witch my husband refused to believe even though he has bite marks, tried saying its chiggers. Any ways, I went and got raid max foggers, has anyone used this in a house with a infant? I plan to wash all this clothes toys blankets etc. But what about things like the carpet and couches.

  • i tried the foggers... set 'em and left for a few days to visit my family, came back and the fleas were a million times worse...

doesn't really answer your question... just letting you know my experience with them
  • @Damiens_Mommy awesome! :( I hope I have better luck.
  • I would stay out of the house for a few days.

@Aydonsmommy i hope you do too hon %%-
  • I like zodiac works great but yes wash everything and air house out for 4hours after foggers. N before y'all enter again
  • My mom had set the flea bombs off and like other women have said she got the ten times worse. My advise is to call a professional to hit them all off. My mom called orkid and they came once and sprayed and they had to come back out two weeks later to kill the larvae that nothing kills. The guy said last year and this year have been really bad for fleas. My finacee had the same problem he spent like 300. On bombs and then had to call a professional bc they were worse after the bombs.
  • Also at Ryan's pet supply. Com they have a spray bottle to treat your dogs its 18.00 will treat all your dogs several times it's called spot on..I'm a groomer and I use it once a month for my 4just in case works great n cheeper than advantage or frontline
  • @azmomthanks!!! That's good to know. I've seen 4 all day so were gonna do the bombs don't have money for the bug pros. Wish we did! I'm gonna set them off at 6 am and let the house sit till 3 then leave baby with my mom and come open up the house till 8pm or so. Thinking that should be enough time. Just worried about the residue on the carpet and couches...

Dawn dish soap kills them too. After you bomb...take a bottle of dawn dish soap & water & spray your carpets & couches. Sounds simple but it helps alot.
  • we set of flea bombs the other night after discovering a flea on my daughters face (was very very cranky) we covered all her stuff with sheets and put all her bottles and stuff away wich got rewashed and sterilized afterwards. we stayed out of the house for about 5 hours then let it completely air out before bringing her back in. the fleas are gone thankgod :)

  • I would call a professional company. We have Terminix on contract. They come quarterly and guarantee no pests. It's perfect.
  • @newmummy_5 - that's great! It makes me feel a bit more hopeful that it'll work for us. Did/have you had any issues with babys skin coming into contact with the left over residue from the foggers? My son seems to be allergic to everything, I literally have to ask ppl if they wash their clothes in tide if they wanna hold him cuz he will break out in a rash after coming in contact with their clothes. so im forties that if we put him on the floor or couch hell have a reaction.
  • @Minions36 - thank you I will do that!!!
