Question about Insurances..

Anyone know? I have Aetna as primary and Healthwave as secondary.. Do i have to have my deductible paid before baby comes? I'm just wondering, I'm going to set up a Pre-Registration with the hospital and someone told me they will tell me how much ill have to pay... Anyone else done a pre-registration?

@2ndbutfirst I guess i just figured they would just bill me everything lol.... but i wanna be as ready as i can if anyone does know..

@alwayzbeenurz2008 I would assume the hospital would submit their charges to the insurances then you would get your EOB and you'd pay that way. When I had insurance that's how I was billed when they didn't cover something.

It depends on the coverage of both insurances...deductibles and copays. Did you not fulfill your deductible(s) from your prenatal care appointments?

@finallyaboy they stopped asking for my copay once I got my secondary insurance.

The hospital often gives u an estimate if your charges, and sometimes if you pay ahead they may discount your charges.

If you have two insurances, you shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket anymore. Whatever the first one doesn't the second one picks up.. the only time you would have to pay is if something isn't covered by either insurance..

I only have Aetna, however I had already paid my 300 dollar deductible prior to birth for other procedures. Please keep in mind with Aetna that baby also has a deductible that you will have to pay when they're born. We did pre registerand paid like 1500 at hospital but also got more bills in the mail. 2 for my first outpatient induction and 1 for pediatricians while at hospital, 1 foe anesthesia and 1 foe the hearing test.

I haven't had to pay anything since I got my secondary either. As long as both are accepted. I just had to switch drs BC my old one accepted both insurances but didn't accept my secondary as a secondary. Only as primary. It was weird. So double check on that as well.

@EiralynnesMommy Yeah ive herd that before, if thats the case they better just bill me babys deduct. cuz im not gonna have 2G's for them. LoL
@314babymama1120 yeah i know thats not a problem they accept both.
