Small baby?

Everyone is posting how there babies are so big, is there anyone having a little baby? At my ultrasound at 36+1 he was around 5.2, but he also had low fluid so I will be having him Monday. With mine and my boyfriends sizes I thought I would have a big baby and was shocked when they said he was that little.

    As u know ultrasound can be off by 2lbs. And as far as low fluid is rare and that far along in pregnancy, ultrasound is even way more of and inaccurate. Most women find once water breaks, there is a lot and there was no "low fluid" :)

    I had my baby at 36 weeks, she was 5 lbs 14 oz.. but I think that's right about normal..

    And mine is "roughly" close to 6lbs at 37 and a half weeks

    I am 38 weeks and five days pg and I only gained ten pounds and they said my baby weighs five pounds ten ounces..

    @bahamamama4828 they are taking him Monday, hopefully they aren't doing the c section early if its not needed.
    @jenoah I have only gained 4 pounds I thought I was doing good.
    @lucyloo288 there just seems to be a lot of people on here saying they are already around 7 pounds. Any issue with her that early or from her size?

    Also I know babies lose some wight after they are born, if he is under 5 pounds will there be any issue taking him home since my car seat is 5+ pounds?

    He needs to be a certain weight before he goes I say I think they will let you know.. I am sure baby is ok or they would of told you other wise

    My baby was 5 15...left the hospital at 5 8. He is doing very well .... born 9/21

    and I actually lost weight through my pregnancy

    My first was 4lbs 13 oz. My second was 6lbs 11oz.

    @jenoah so they will just keep him till he is big enough?
    @ourbaby3 how far where you when you had him?
    @emy did they get to come home right away?

    Depends on what they say some places will and some won't as long as he is healthy and eating on his own I think he will go with you..

    @mama2be11_4_11 my boyfriend and I where both over 9 pounds, your girl is catching up it seems. I am having a baby Monday and people still can't tell I'm pregnant, makes me mad lol.

    They said my son was gonna be 9lbs but he was born 6lbs 15oz and left the hospital at 6lbs 9oz :)

    Yep but he's a porker now. He's 5.5 weeks and over 10lbs now :) and going they his 2nd growth spurt he's eating a ton every few hours!

    If there is hardly any movement that late in pregnancy, like it feels like the baby is wrapped in saran wrap, that's a good indicator of low fluid. Did doc palpate belly? Just my thoughts as a midwife :)

    They say they can gain as much as 1/2 an ounce a week so she may be bigger then you think @mama2be11_4_11

    @bahamamama4828 he was breach when I had the ultrasound and he has now flipped and hes moving more now then he has in all 9 months combined, having more kicks and punchs at least

    Depends... if you had a level 2 ultrasound, it's more likely to be accurate. They told me my baby was measuring 6 lbs 2 oz two days before she was born... at 6 lbs 4 oz. That was with a lvl 2.

    How do you know what kind they did? They did it at the same place as I had my 20 week ultrasound, when I first went there they said it was something different about the ultrasound there. @mythica

    My first had to stay in the nicu for 10 days but it was because he couldn't breathe well. He was down to 4lbs 9oz wen he came home.

    At 36 weeks she was 5pounds 7 oz.. Lol they said they aren't concerned with it at all . I actually think she had a random growth spurt last week

    No, she didn't have any problems at all.. the doctors were amazed that she was doing so well. I'm sure your baby will be just fine, also.

    Usually if the facility has a web site it will say. Mine was at a specialist. And with a level two, you can see the bones and spine in high detail.

    I still have no idea how big my baby girl is I hope they tell me soon cause I'm curious only cause people keep telling me that I look lunge I'm about 5 months and I'm 29 weeks and for some reason I think she will be a big baby cause I'm only 4 foot 11 inches and I think just now hit 100 pounds so I keep thinking that even though everyone keeps saying she could besmall I think she will be big :) so just have to wait and see what the doc says

    I was 39+1 when I had my baby an she was 6lb 13oz oz at birth. I had to have an extra scan while pg because she was measuring small and even while in labour the midwife asked if her size had been double checked-not the best time to ask!!
