edited October 2011 in Babies
What diaper cream works best for youre lo? Please help, my 2 week old has the worst diaper rash, I keep her as clean as I can but it's still there, I don't like seeing her in so much pain when I wipe her, I guess the johnson diaper cream isn't working...

  • I love the a&d cream.. Works best for my sons sensitive skin.. I wont use the aveeno dont like the texture
  • How long have u been using it, destin worked for me & my lil girl is 2wks, u can try buttpaste it work for my nephew or corn starch...have u made sure it wasn't the diapers or wipes! I really hated seeing my baby booty hurt every diaper changed she jus hollered!
  • You need aloe vesta. Its not specifically for diaper rash but works wonders. It runs about $14 for a tube of it but that's because it works.
  • I like boudreaux butt paste the best I use desitin but you can smell it through the diaper I also tried monkey butt because it was bogo at.walgreens and I like it orderless
  • Butt paste I think or desitin
  • I use a&d when I start to see the slightest bit of red. The rash never happens after that.

I had the same problem a week ago and I tried everything . But the one that really works its Desitin maximum strength
  • A&d ointment or buttpaste here :)
  • I love aquaphore baby. No smell. No gross residue.
  • Butt paste and desitin work great. My lil gets diaper rash pretty easy and that what we use
  • There is a desitin that is healing... I think its maximum strength..and a preventative one
  • Could be allergic to the diapers! My son was allergic to huggies. I thought it was a really bad diaper rash but the diaper was actually eating the skin off his bum :(
  • I use a&d cause I've heard destin dries out the skin but my step mom said balmex works wonders and takes rash away in on diaper change. But my little girl had a rash and it would not go away not matter what I did. I used different creams and diapers so I finally took her to her pediatrician and they prescribed a anti fungal cream and the rash was gone in 3 days. They said it was early onset of a yeast infection but she hadn't been on antibiotics so I'm not sure bow she got it. Maybe call the dr office and talk to one of the nurses
  • Butt paste is my favorite...you can get it at Target or Walmart. Don't get the "organic" version....it doesn't work as well...its runnier and doesn't stick to the skin as well. I concur with the trying of a new diaper, too...sometimes, its the diaper itself causing the rash. I've worked in daycare for seven years...I've seen just about every rash go away with Bordeaux's paste or a change in diapers. If it doesn't, there is a brand of baby stuff Sephora sells, I can't think of it right now, but its blue and white. I wanna say its $20 a tube....but when the buttpaste doesn't work, this does. Hope that helps. Poor baby.
  • Desitin! worked really good when my baby had diaper rash
  • Make sure you use sensitive wipes also. Butt paste and desitin both work very well if its not to bad of a rash.
  • Also there's no need to wipe if they just pee.
  • Thanks for all the input! I dont think its her diapers because it's only in one spot, but i'm definetly going to try destin and them boudrou's
  • I have to say butt paste is #1
  • Butt paste is amazing stuff, when my sons rash was really bad I would put triple antibiotic cream on it first then butt paste on top of that. My sons rash was gone within a day or two.
  • I have been using baseline on my baby from day one after every diaper change and knock on wood she hasn't had a diaper rash
  • I just recently discovered that the top care brand from tops is the best ever. U can smell the medicine in it and it only takes one application and diaper rash is gone.
  • I thought my daughter had a diaper rash bc she cried one nite so loud when I changed her & I was using wipes but for a week now I stopped using wipes I wash her now when she needs a diaper change. N her doc said she has fungal rash bc it moves from spot to spot but im using Nystatin & Destitin maximum strength & now its gone :)
  • BUTT PASTE!!! at the sight of red i put it on her and its gone by the next diaper change and it comes off alot easier then destin
  • and i use cloth wipes with just water
  • I love paladin! Go to the pharmacy, they keep it behind the counter... No u dont need a rx for it.
  • O jeez, now I don't know what to use! I guess i'll have to figure out what works best for her, thanks everyone!
