  • One year before. Kept all the details in a neat Excel workbook. Worksheets for: all ceremony participants and contact info; event timeline and tasks/assignments down to the minute; vendors and contact info; music lists since I used an ipod with playlists instead of a dj; guest list with contacts; gifts/thank yous; menu; budget and expenses, etc. Everyone involved got a copy of the appropriate info. It was great!
  • There is a website theknot.com, it has a checklist and time line for you. You can get ideas and post a profile that friends and family can view it has a lot to offer :)
  • Two months. He asked, we started planning the next day. In that time we also bought a house & moved in. I was also pregnant. I highly don't recommend it! i'd say 6-9 months before.
  • @blueberrysmom do you want a holiday in england? lol can come plan for me very organized!
  • I really got started about 9 months before! My best friend is getting married Sep 2012 and we haven't started doing anything yet but we plan to start Dec/january
  • We got engaged in Sept. 2010 and married January 1, 2011. I think we started getting things together about November. We had a beach wedding so there wasn't a whole lot of planning.
  • @blueberrysmom and while you are over here for @SamiUK can you do mine! The organising already driving me insane, I just want to be my man's wife!!
