  • Let the court handle it! If he hasnt stepped ip on his own by now then he wont ever! Let the judge handle him. If you do decide to come to an agreement together then you should still get something through the courts stating yalls arrangements! Dont go on his word alone!
  • I would keep your date with the judge and court. Its great that he has said that he wants to be more responsible but I believe that the best judge of future behavior is past behavior..and for the past 7 years he hasnt been responsible...just go to court and get it all straightened out..that way you know your kids are taken care of.
  • Just go thru court. Some guys are just all talk (my ex husband). They say they will but don't. Get it thru court to protect you & your daughter. Make sure she gets what she deserves.
  • Ty for the advice, I really can't talk 2 any1 in my family (except my sister who left to Mexico) they all judge him for what and how he has been... I'm just so confused, but I will still keep my court date. Every1 is right I need security for my daughter
  • Yes, let the courts deal with it. Ur girl comes first. ;)
  • I'm sure the judge will allow you some input on how much he should pay, but really why give him a break? I made that mistake with my son's father and now I only get $400 a month maximum with no increase if there are medical bills (sport/school physicals, dental bills, eye doctor), school events (field trips, class projects, fundraising), sports fees, or anything and active 8 year old boys bring up alot of expenses just for having to replace torn and grass/mud stained clothing. He didn't pay me for the first five years of my son's life and I never got any back payment. He too has been in and out of his life and I know it hurts my son greatly.
  • That's also if he remembers to pay.

Plenty of times he has "forgotten" his check book promising to mail a check and ends up skipping a month.
