is this normal newborn question

Is it normal that today my 3 week old has been sleeping all day and when he eats its barely anything. Last couple days he has been eating a lot and last night he was up all night but is this normal for him to barely eat and be so sleepy?

    My 2 an half wk old does that sumtimes she drinks a lot an other time she don't or she will act like she wants to eat real bad an she gets like a ounce down an falls bak asleep

    Does she sleep all day? I know he was up all night but he is sleeping more then he has since he was first born.

    Yes all together she mite be up 2hours during the day but she was up last nite to an she has been sleeping all day long hasn't been up jus up to eat

    just be cautious of your supply if youre nursing @Samantha (i cant remember all the breastfeeders here lol)

    @Bahamamama4828 Can you explain a little of what you mean by be careful of your supply?

    My baby does the above sometimes. At first I was concerned about supply, but then after reading other posts I was given the impression that baby would get whatever they need.

    Ya what do you mean because since he woke up I haven't been able to satisfy his hunger. He just had to have a bottle and now my bf is making me feel like shit because I'm not producing enough or something hr keeps saying oh good boy two whole bottles blah blah. Sorry I'm just frustrated and lack of sleep.

    i mean if you go too long too often without baby nursing, supply may drop a little. if the sleeping issue is occasional its ok and normal and more than likely a growth spurt. yes baby does know what they need, even if its VERY often :)
